The neat freak inside me says yes red Smile.

ElementaryMyDear · 20/03/2016 22:51

Gypsy, you underestimate Dad3's unrivalled counting and record keeping abilities.

glowfrog · 20/03/2016 22:52

Is it wrong that this made me giggle?

Actually I've just found that awful horsey school in Yorkshire accepts Y1 boarders. The school I shall not name for fear of deletion.

GypsyFl0ss · 20/03/2016 22:53

But but but if we have only once that I can remember actually filled it right to the top then it won't be 50k posts at the end of the 50th thread. Daaaaaaad where are you? I need your heeelllpppp.

redshoeblueshoe · 20/03/2016 22:55

I'm no neat freak Gypsy but when I did statistics at college about a million years ago I was crap. I thought it would just make life easier.

glowfrog - I don't think anyone should wake D3 for that

although it could be quite amusing

Gruach · 20/03/2016 22:56

kipper - After directing Emily to the previous thread I had a look at it - and discovered that actually the initial baby boarding school fulmination was on the thread before that. (Seems only last week!)

Someone, determined to give me (relentlessly and boringly pro-boarding) apoplexy, claimed to have found at least two schools on google that took five year olds.

Feel free to re-open the debate. Grin

(Love your name btw. Reminds me of a certain two year old who tried dipping his birthday chocolate cake in tomato ketchup - and laughed uproariously when he saw our faces.)

BYOSnowman · 20/03/2016 23:01

Kipper - there was a long discussion of this on the last thread and a lot of us have found this addition to the sl extremely irritating

Some others found posting about it boring and said so (which passed me off tbh)

However, as an inclusive thread that likes to encourage lurkers and new posters/posters who haven't been on for a while - I don't see why we can't discuss the boarding school sl again!

BYOSnowman · 20/03/2016 23:02

Xpost gruach

ElementaryMyDear · 20/03/2016 23:07

I still wonder who the hell actually wants to send a 5 year old to boarding school. Even in the most dire emergency I would have thought something like a fostering arrangement would be preferable.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 20/03/2016 23:09

We used to hang cbunting on the Emotional abuse support thread everytime someone escaped. We also had our own version of the Bull. Got a bit rowdy at timesGrin Not been over for a long time to ch3ck if the bunting and wotsits still flow.

Now...how did it go again. We can get it out when Rob finally F'Offs.

BYOSnowman · 20/03/2016 23:09

Keris follow up tweet was utter bullshit

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 20/03/2016 23:21

cuntbunting EA thread style.
Obviously I mean Knob Titchyknob and all the other FWs like him and not TA diehards on this thread.

R4 · 20/03/2016 23:31

The boarding SL is just silly. They could have had Ursula pretend to be concerned over school problems (bullying & bedwetting) and offer to solve the problem by offering to Home Ed back in Hampshire (perhaps citing lack of bedrooms at BHC Hmm). All the hippy Bridge Farm lot would love the idea of H.E. In reality, Ursula would banish him to the East wing with an au pair who doesn't speak English. And then ship him off to BS in due time.
That might have been slightly more believable. But maybe the boarding SL needs to be the plot device of 'the straw that broke the Helen's camel's back.' Roll on next week ...

R4 · 20/03/2016 23:33

Love the bunting small!

LyndaNotLinda · 20/03/2016 23:33

That is excellent bunting SmallLegs

spiker · 20/03/2016 23:49

[tangent] I find it odd that nobody in Ambridge finds it odd that Knob has No Mates At All (pre-Hellin). Although come to think of it I don't remember the Fairbrethren ever mentioning anybody either (I'm not counting ex-wives or mysterious arrangements in Brighton).

That was all. Been bothering me for a while!

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 20/03/2016 23:53

The Fsirbrethren do have 'rugby mates'. They mention them in context of village hall rebuild.

Rob would only have friends if they were useful.

Putthetulipsthere · 21/03/2016 00:05

YY duck and BYOS - boarding school SL is just a cliche.

I'm away over Easter, so may not have usual opportunities to listen on Friday. Quite relieved actually!

When the phone rang in today's episode, for some reason I thought it was going to be Knob's voice and was so relieved to hear Lilian chatting away about her hangover.

ColdTeaAgain · 21/03/2016 00:06

I do like a bit of bunting! 50 threads definitely needs noting Grin

Pat made a comment about families putting their past behind them or something like that and Knob muttered "in some circumstances", obviously meaning he isn't prepared to put his family differences behind him. Just what is the skeleton in the closet? Ursula certainly hasn't been missing home....

NotnowNigel · 21/03/2016 00:10

Someone should post a copy of the lundy book to helen. And while there at it, to patbot too, the most irritating character fail in the archer's history.

magnificatAnimaMea · 21/03/2016 00:17

Gruach Grin Sorry. It was probably the institution not-identified upthread; and one girls' prep, in a different part of the UK.

I agree that the concept is generally Not The Done Thing In Decent Schools.

But as I think I said on the last thread, Decent Schools do sometimes have major slip-ups in policy or practice. If a Boarding Prep took the kind of gubernatorial path (for example) of the school I went to, which (controlled by an out of control board of governors) had a recklessly erratic path of headteacher-swapping & major policy changing, for a few years, in between two periods of untouchable stability - I can see that stupid decisions might plausibly get made about boarding age in a prep school, along the way.

KingscoteStaff · 21/03/2016 05:49

Even as we speak (type), the mysterious Bruce is slowly emerging from his Ursula-less swamp and slouching towards Ambridge.

GypsyFl0ss · 21/03/2016 06:59

Love the bunting Small!
