Threads are moving so fast! Will this thread be here to welcome SOK?

Boarding school is a big decision and one on which many people have very strong opinions. It's not a decision that one parent, especially a fairly new step-parent would make on their own. Surely, surely it will ring alarm bells if Henry mentions it to anyone.

R4 - hahahaha!

I suppose we have not heard from Alistair for a while... He'd be slightly alarmed by Richard's return, surely??

I have decided to just sit back, relax and listen to it all unravel over the coming week. Do not let me down SOC

Urgh.

Henry's not going to be able to keep that secret until bedtime, let alone September.

I know Pat is trying to be extra cautious but if I were her I'd at least ask Helen about Easter Sunday rather than constantly be told by Rob that they'd rather not.

Also, why doesn't Helen move into Bridge Farm for a bit if she is struggling so much. She and Henry did used to live there, Plenty of people to help with Henry and she'd be close to Rob every day in the shop rather than home alone.

It's odd that no one has suggested it.

So, it would be good to have a discussion about the suitability of boarding schools for five-year olds.

DadDadDAd I was actually wandering if we should call it BullshitGate and as its late have this instead Wine

Report
DadDadDad · 20/03/2016 21:51

Actually, rather than Wine I could do with Zzzz, but thanks anyway.

In return, I should point out that I now know that my username is a pain to type out in full, so I answer to the nicely mathematical D^3

Also strange: Pat doesn't seem bothered by Ursula's arrival and stay. I think I'd feel a bit hurt that the other granny would take over like that. And why isn't she offering to take over from Ursula?

I'll leave a question: does anyone think the impressive and imminent success of 50 full threads on TA and 50,000 posts is something worth bringing to MNHQ's attention for marking in some way? And how? A new smiley with bunting, a smiley of a bull (reference The Bull, dairy farming, and a label we might apply to some plot and characters...)?

Or do you think HQ wouldn't give a monkeys?

3D we could just ask President Olivia

I wish I'd never mentioned bastard bananas

I'm going to finish my Wine

glowfrog exactly.

Tis very odd. I expect at least a slightly disgruntled conversation with Tom or Jennifer, even if she doesn't say anything to Helen

Report
Minimammoth · 20/03/2016 22:07

Gruach said the very same yesterday Dad3. We deserve bunting at least.

I've made bunting in the past. Something like this, I think:

I think I'd feel a bit hurt that the other granny would take over like that.

So would I. And I think that I would go Knob-tastic and say that, since Helen wasn't coping, I would nobly step into the role recently vacated by Ursula and be there every day to 'help'. How could either Rob or Helen object?

Why was Rob in the shop today? What was he up to? Was he trying to cover up some error in strawberry jam ordering / stock control?Confused

And while I'm at it, wasn't there some conversation in the shop about bust-ups in families (?to do with Alf?). Why didn't Pat say something about the amazing turn-around in Knob / Ursula relations.

Will it really be 50,000 posts D^3 when we generally move over to the new thread before the old one is done? I know Kr1stina kindly filled in the last one but that's an exception.

I do think we should be marking it though and love the idea of Bull bunting and if we go all out perhaps we could trend all day long Grin

Report
redshoeblueshoe · 20/03/2016 22:38

Gypsy I was about to mention Kr1stina's heroic and amusing finish to the last thread, I wonder if we should finish off all the old threads in the same fashion

Are there any boarding schools in the entire country that take 5-year-olds? He's in reception. My ds goes to a boarding prep where Y4 is the youngest age a child can board, which is fairly normal. I know some schools allow boarding from Y3. But not for reception kids or even Y1. The storyline is getting bonkers.

R4 interesting thought! Though it could also just because the SWs needed him and Pat to talk about the party, set up Pat having Henry on Friday etc.
