An ex-wife of just an ex? Is that who he was giving money to?

BYOSnowman · 22/03/2016 08:30

I can't imagine he is the type that would worry about paying maintenance - not like he has any time for any potential child. And he's being pretty feckless with his money making

If that was the best acting they've done so far it says very little for their back catalogue

And does no one like my suggestion that rob will frame Johnny? Why else was he up there otherwise?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/03/2016 08:36

I think it might be a touch optimistic to think this is the end, but maybe:

... this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

VitaSackvileVest · 22/03/2016 08:56

BYOS - if Rob accuses Johnny of being the twisted fire starter, maybe David, Ruth and Bert will confirm that Johnny was with them, and David will remember what Stefan told him about Rob's actions on the night of the flood, and it will all start unravelling....wishful thinking

redshoeblueshoe · 22/03/2016 08:56

BYOS I do like your suggestion. But whatever happens I think it will all be very rushed, and I think there will be some sort of resolution otherwise why would SOC be on Woman's Hour next week. I'm expecting him to be really smug about what a wonderful job he has done, and how he doesn't know how EE has coped without him.
In fact I hope someone will report back, so I can decide whether to listen to him.
I would not put it passed SOC killing off Knob - which is bloody lazy not what I want Angry
Back to your point BYOS - if he tries to set up Johnny and he gets caught doing it - well that is something I would like to see.

redshoeblueshoe · 22/03/2016 08:57

Vita you beat me to it, and put it so much better than I did Blush Grin

VitaSackvileVest · 22/03/2016 09:00

I don't think they can kill off knob, as they killed off Greg, and it would really finish off poor Helen .

It's got to be something where he gets his just desserts quickly - like prison with no bail, or running off to South America etc.

VitaSackvileVest · 22/03/2016 09:02

Only by a few milliseconds! Grin

I reckon Toby is up to some dodgy deals in Brighton and the eggmobile has been torched in revenge.

MrsArthurShappey · 22/03/2016 09:33

Checking in. Still not listening but loving your chat as ever.

NotdeadyetBOING · 22/03/2016 09:35

Will confess to being actually quite curious about the whole Brighton-gate mystery.

I'll give you that, SWs. doesn't mean the Fairbrothers can act, though

MrsArthurShappey · 22/03/2016 09:39

The thing I hate most is Toby calling Rex 'bro' all the time!

glowfrog · 22/03/2016 09:54

I know Rob wants rid of Johnny but why would he frame him ie what motive would he give Johnny for doing so?

NotdeadyetBOING · 22/03/2016 09:58

The thing I hate most is Toby calling Rex 'bro' all the time!

YES!! Couldn't agree more. Just painful to listen to.

ppeatfruit · 22/03/2016 10:04

They made a big thing about having an electrical hen house opener didn't they? Maybe the wiring went wrong?

Gruach · 22/03/2016 10:07

I wouldn't mind the "bro" thing if it was a character trait - rather than a SW with no faith in their script.

BYOSnowman · 22/03/2016 10:07

I don't think rob did it to frame Johnny

I'm suggesting rob finds out Johnny was there and starts some rumours about him being a bad'un (being northern and all)

EmilyDickinson · 22/03/2016 10:12

Isn't Toby supposed to be irritating though? With his boundless self confidence, assumption that every woman fancies him and his reluctance to do any of the hard work or boring bits of farming. I've always thought that him calling Rex "Bro" all the time was part of all that. That it probably irritates Rex as well. Like those people who call you by a nickname you don't like. I suspect that on some level Toby calls Rex "Bro" in that rather patronising way to establish who is the senior partner in and brains of their operation.

R4 · 22/03/2016 10:13

I refuse to contemplate that the fire was caused by the electrics because that would lay the blame on Bert and I'm not having that: he's a skilled and meticulous craftsman.
Rob doesn't need to give Johnny a 'motive': he can say it was due to youth, stupidity, incompetence and just generally being a Northerner. "He wasn't born into farming stock, like the rest of us, was he?"

enochroot · 22/03/2016 10:23

I suppose they're too feckless to have insured the eggmobile so it's not an insurance scam.

Gruach · 22/03/2016 10:30

I haven't even heard the episode yet but I've been worrying about insurance. (Didn't like to ask in case it was the first thing they talked about.)

Gruach · 22/03/2016 10:31

Oh - and they hadn't fully paid Bert, had they?

BYOSnowman · 22/03/2016 10:33

Bert didn't do the electrics. Josh did

EmilyDickinson · 22/03/2016 10:36

If it is Josh's fault then it's a good job Pip is away at the moment. She'd never let him hear the end of it.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 22/03/2016 10:40

Everyone thinks Johnny did it because he's a northerner.
Grin

I am a northerner and that has made me laugh a lot Grin
