Maybe if we don't look directly at the other storyline it will disappear?

Thanks Gaspode - Shula is blandly annoying these days, nice to hear she's had a scandalous past... I remember my mum and her friend talking about it when Mark died - I'm 34 - and when John died - clearly my childhood was defined by TA !

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/03/2016 18:50

oops - too many finallys Blush

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/03/2016 19:05

YES!!!

dreame · 18/03/2016 19:05

How did she know Eddie had been told about the surprise party? Did I miss that?

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 18/03/2016 19:05

Thank god Kirsty!

Boomingmarvellous · 18/03/2016 19:05

As several of us predicted Kirsty is contacting woman's aid!

redshoeblueshoe · 18/03/2016 19:05

Go Kirsty

Boomingmarvellous · 18/03/2016 19:05

Listen and learn Kirsty!

Boomingmarvellous · 18/03/2016 19:06

Yea. Bang the bastard up for a year or two. That'll bring him down a peg or two!

BYOSnowman · 18/03/2016 19:06

Thank god for phone lines to the outside

(Dadx3/ i don't like to be told to move on when maybe I'm not ready to)

Boomingmarvellous · 18/03/2016 19:08

Spot on Kirsty! In denial!

Elendon · 18/03/2016 19:11

BYO I agree wholeheartedly.

Pipbin · 18/03/2016 19:12

I posted in this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2591210-boycotting-happy-eggs-is-there-a-better-free-range-brand?msgid=59926672#59926672 about the difference between free range and organic.

Putthetulipsthere · 18/03/2016 19:13

😀 go for it Kirsty

Boomingmarvellous · 18/03/2016 19:15

Oh. The bro stole clarrie's money! Shock

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 18/03/2016 19:16

K is such a good friend.

H doesn't deserve her - but thank god she has her for all our sakes

EsmesBees · 18/03/2016 19:16

Enjoyed that. Nice to have an episode with characters having a good time. Could have done without Wayne's ode to Eddie though.

BYOSnowman · 18/03/2016 19:17

Yes - it is odd how good a friend Kirsty is when there seems no obvious reciprocity at any point of their relationship

Wordsaremything · 18/03/2016 19:20

Well done Kirsty!

Someone asked up thread about coercive control legislation - as I understand it only acts after it came in count. However behaviour before that ( I e before 29 Dec 2015) can be admissible as 'bad character' . I suspect if it comes to court, and I do hope that is the way the s l will play out- Knob's defence will be all about doing things in Hellin's best interests.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 18/03/2016 19:25

The boarding school thing is clearly going to be pivotal, and I suspect if people felt it had been done to death they'd feel confident in not talking about it any more.

I personally sometimes feel that the 'I'm a man, is anyone else a man, who is a man here?' Intrudes on what other people are talking about, but I wouldn't come and tell people the manner in which they ought to discuss the archers!

Elendon · 18/03/2016 19:25

No obvious recprociity? Helen didn't want to take Henry out for the day to meet Kirsty?

Helen does indeed deserve Kirsty, and Kirsty knows this.

Hmm
BYOSnowman · 18/03/2016 19:27

But that was for Helens benefit

Helen certainly needs a good friend right now and luckily Kirsty is around. I'm sure knob was livid when Kirsty came back and he hadn't got her successfully off the scene.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 18/03/2016 19:29

Kirsty clearly has a thing for people who don't treat her that wellHmm

Phone call to WA tick.
Mention coercive control tick.
Point out abuse is not a class issue tick.

But that (very true to life) she's not you know one of those women you see on the telly. She's not a battered wife.

This is 1) why the shame and 2) why women often think it's not great but it's not that bad.

So all in all well done TA for pointing out not all DA involves having seven bells knocked out of you and that it can happen to anyone.

I remember to my shame having both the idea of what a survivor of DA was like Blush (not me) and also that because other people had it much, much worse that made it ok.

BYOSnowman · 18/03/2016 19:34

That's what I'm worried about if this gets more physical - women will think 'at least my rob doesn't hit me/rape me/alienate me from my child'

What I like about the sl is that it will make people realise ea is bad enough and violence isn't the only form of abuse

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 18/03/2016 19:36

Did Helen stick up for Kirsty when Rob said she made a mess of running AO?
