Maybe if we don't look directly at the other storyline it will disappear?

Remind me to listen to the film tomorrow before I go to the launderette. :o Due to doing savage hours I'm in bed at 6pm every evening and have been driving a van with no radio during my working hours.

That's not quite what I meant, Ppeat, yes, we have been told she has friends but we don't really hear these interactions so she only really has the opportunity to feature as 'heir to Brookfield' or in relation to a boyfriend. There isn't really any other speaking character with whom she would naturally associate. Tom, for example, can be a main player in a storyline or he can just feature once in a pub scene as part of a Roy or Fallon storyline. It's these things that I think flesh out a character subtly. With Pip, it's always all about Pip.

I was surprised by all the leading questions the WA responder asked Kirsty. I'd have thought they'd be careful to be more neutral in order to better assess the situation, especially if it's somebody calling on someone else's behalf.

Was it Josh or Toby who said she was grumpy because she 'wasn't getting any any more' ?

It must be difficult if you have to go to a cottage across the yard in full view of the family though BYOS. Grin

There's being sexually active and then there's being sexually active and making crude comments to your parents about your sex life. Former would be preferred!

She has to do a major fuck up and come back humble to rescue us from the smug perfect farmer her parents seem to see. I don't think she shows any positive personality traits and the negative ones are irritating more than loathsome.

maybe it's just because they have made her one dimensional and the sw and actress are struggling to add dimensions

I may be alone on this, but I liked Wayne's song. It was totally in keeping for Eddie to have that kind of party and for Wayne, Jolene and Eddie to start singing.

Swirling Pip has many friends, probably peers among the Young Farmers (of which she is , or was, an active member).

She works at Brookfield so of course she is quite upfront atm. There does seem to be quite bit of sibling rivalry which is fairly natural IME though I agree that D and R should say something about her jealousy of Josh. (though of course there would be complaints on here if she was a saint Grin ) I like that she is sexually active and the parents aren't upset about it.

Completely agree the WA conversation sounded so wooden. At least they did it so brownie points for that but it did sound rather false!
Kirsty is gradually putting all the pieces together, I hope she gets Helen to tell her more or convinces her to phone WA herself.

I steeled myself to listen to the rape scene this morning and thought it was very sensitively done. I think the theory about DA starting/escalating in pregnancy is because the man feels threatened and jealous as he's losing control of your body. Sick I know. Flowers for all those if you who've been through this.

I thought it was great they got Kirsty to call WA but the volunteer sounded v robotic. The women on the other end of that line often have personal experience of DA and can be v warm & sympathetic, as well as professional and helpful. It all sounded v staged. And Wayne's song was cringe worthy.
