Come on Kirsty!

*blocking makes more sense

Also I can't believe Pat won't go and see Hellen and make sure she sees her alone. Don't believe she would only accept Knob's version and be reassured by him. I too hope Henwee is spilling the beans - Knob can hardly ask him to keep any secrets after Friday.

ColdTeaAgain · 07/02/2016 20:22

That episode was horrible Sad

I think Knob turned her phone off and put it out of her reach.

GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 20:33

Rob will probably manipulate Helen into discharging herself from hospital, after all he can look after her so much better than anyone else, and Henwee needs her despite her being a naughty liar.

WipsGlitter · 07/02/2016 20:35

Is she in hospital?

On a separate note the Fairbrethren chatting up was dreadful.

ColdTeaAgain · 07/02/2016 20:41

Yes he will convince her he knows better than the medical staff and she will recover better at home where he can look after her 24/7.

I'm starting to wonder if his next shift at the shop will involve him taking her phone with him and locking her in.

On a side note could Toby get anymore irritating if he tried!?

GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 20:44

Have the Fairbros given up on geese, or are the eggs an additional enterprise?

enochroot · 07/02/2016 20:49

I'm not sure she could discharge herself when there's the welfare of an unborn child involved.

One or other of these medics must spot what the real problem is. If anything, they are more likely to consider abuse as a factor than not.

BYOSnowman · 07/02/2016 20:54

Will rob be telling Henry it was his fault for being mean to mummy

ColdTeaAgain · 07/02/2016 20:56

Either that or he will tell him that mummy has been very naughty and wasn't looking after the baby.

Marchate · 07/02/2016 20:57

All medics, including GPs, watch for and notice signs of abuse. They often present as symptoms of depression but doctors and nurses will watch and listen for things that don't add up

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 07/02/2016 21:15

Then again I saw the peri-natal psychiatrist and he didn't spot anything. Nor did the mws despite the fuckwit coming in and shouting at me in the hospitalSad

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 07/02/2016 21:16

Also I think Helen will just think she jas been a very bad person again.
I think her salvation will be Kirsty who is not going to accept Rob not letting her speak or have visitors.

EBearhug · 07/02/2016 21:20

I think he'll be saying Mummy has been bad and not looked after baby. He's got Henry on side at the moment, so he doesn't need to threaten him just at the moment.

Marchate · 07/02/2016 21:20

I guess they all know what to look for, but they have their own beliefs & biases to get over first

GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 21:25

I hate the way that, when Knob is angry, it's always on the basis that Helen is putting his baby at risk. It makes it so clear that her only value to him is as an incubator and someone he can control.

Eastpoint · 07/02/2016 21:28

Oh dear, soon I'm going to have to give up reading this thread having already given up listening to The Archers.

GypsyFl0ss · 07/02/2016 21:33

Perhaps the staff will end up raising a a safeguarding concern with their safeguarding team which then ends up being escalated into a social care referral... Cue the arrival of Jess as the assessment social worker. Obviously she wouldn't be allowed to work the case but it might allow some gaps to be filled in.

dontcallmethatyoucunt · 07/02/2016 21:34

I think he'll kill her. He's just appalling.

Gruach · 07/02/2016 21:53

Helen will not die.

No editor or SW could be so heartless to a family. Who would listen to Pat and Tony going through that again?

(If I keep on repeating this it will be true.)

GypsyFl0ss · 07/02/2016 21:58

I agree Gruach. It would be heartbreaking and I'd imagine that SOC wants to pursue a positive outcome for this storyline.

ColdTeaAgain · 07/02/2016 22:05

We need a positive outcome and preferably one that is empowering from a femal perspective, otherwise TA will lose a lot of loyal listeners.

Greengager · 07/02/2016 22:35

Gah! Just listening to the bit in the restaurant. It's chilling. Force feeding and using Henry to bully Hellen. She's really trying to act like it's all normal but definitely knows it's not.

AdventuresOfADentist · 07/02/2016 22:43

I know previous posters have linked to the justgiving page (which has now topped £40000), but do you think we could make a separate thread for it on MN? I know it's TA related and a lot of people wouldn't know what we were on about, but others might be interested as apparently it's the biggest campaign/single amount that's ever been raised for Refuge apparently. Any thoughts welcome.

Gruach · 07/02/2016 22:47

I don't object.

But I think it's utterly disgraceful that such a vital service should need charitable donations. In the 21st century. In Britain.
