Come on Kirsty!

Do you think she actually went to the scan last week? I'm sure he said the blood tests she should have had would have shown up her anaemia. I never had blood tests at a scan though.

GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 19:40

Another episode with me yelling "Fuck off!" at the radio. It's just not good for my blood pressure.

My bet is that he's blocked Kirsty or deleted the number. Even Patbot might raise an eyebrow at him confiscating the phone, and I suspect the psychiatrists would start working things out very quickly if they heard about it. Let's hope Kirsty has the sense to call from another number.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/02/2016 19:40

Thing is, I don't think Helln's eatng disorder will be on her medical records. As I recall, she was treated prvately and then, when she was pregnant with Henwee, there was a bit where we heard her talking to someone (midwife? doctor?) and sayiing she'd been 'off her food a bit' after Greg died but that was all. It really wasn't picked up on at the time.

Oh, and Knob must die.

redshoeblueshoe · 07/02/2016 19:42

Fucking bastard Lets hope Kirsty actually phones the hospital and they tell her she is welcome to visit

JessTitchener · 07/02/2016 19:43

I'm not a particularly emotional person and the distress of fictional characters doesn't normally bother me but I don't think I can take much more of this.

If this storyline is going to be long term then I think I'm going to stop listening and just hang out on this thread to get the gist.

Trojanhorsebox · 07/02/2016 19:49

I agree, I am a long time listener and I think the Rob actor is very good, but I listen to The Archers for a bit of lighthearted escapism and entertainment and it just isn't that anymore.

EsmesBees · 07/02/2016 19:49

That was hard listening. Surely Kirsty will have a quiet word with Tom or Pat now.

PseudoBadger · 07/02/2016 19:50

Keri Davies wrote this entire week. He's done an interesting tweet, not actual spoiler detail at all but I won't post it here unless requested, or via pm

AnnieNoMouse · 07/02/2016 19:52

I wonder if either he or she told them she hasn't being eating or if it was obvious? Otherwise they might just think she is naturally anaemic/nit eating the right things. Whereas if they think it is her ED would she not get more input from MH team? Who might find out what has been going on…

C*%t mentioned input from the ante-natal psychiatric team, so whatever information the hospital has they know, at the very least, that Helen has a mental health problem. As someone up thread said, I hope the medics recognise how controlling Rob is being, and do something about it.

PseudoBadger · 07/02/2016 19:53

She does have a mental health problem. It's Rob.

OP posts:
GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 19:55

Oo, Pseudo, could you post Keri Davies' tweet on the spoiler thread?

Shallishanti · 07/02/2016 19:55

quite right PB
I'd like to think now she's in hospital someone will figure it out

AnnieNoMouse · 07/02/2016 19:56

I've been a born again listener since autumn 2014 and for all that time have been listening in the hope of there being a c*%t - Helen denouement, while following all the other stories as well. But the last few episodes I've barely noticed the other plot-lines - it's too hard to listen to Helen and then think about curtains or grass-fed meats. They can't keep the Helen SL at this level for long surely?

AnnieNoMouse · 07/02/2016 19:58

Or rather PB, she doesn't have a mental health problem, she has Rob Angry Sad

GruntledOne · 07/02/2016 19:59

I've got vague memories of Helen mentioning her anorexia to the midwife. Am I imagining it?

I wonder if the actor who plays Rob is in a relationship? I think if I were his partner I would have to ban him completely from using that awful mirthless laugh, because I get this uncontrollable urge to slap him every time I hear it.

If he's planning to watch over her every minute of the day, does that mean he plans to stop working or to drag her to the shop with him? Poor Helen, she will lose every vestige of control over her life that she has ever had - I would have thought that really could drive her over the edge.

NettleTea · 07/02/2016 20:02

He wont be able to stay overnight though, will he.

GypsyFl0ss · 07/02/2016 20:02

I thought it sounded like Keri's writing. I'd like to read what he said please Pseudo.

redshoeblueshoe · 07/02/2016 20:03

Gruntled - she has.
Jess if you stop listening keep posting, we need someone who has access to a real midwife

PseudoBadger · 07/02/2016 20:03

I've put it on the spoiler thread to avoid any possible issue!

makemineasnowball · 07/02/2016 20:09

Well they clearly aren't following any political agenda wrt the NHS if no one notices anything at all throughout her pregnancy etc

LillianGish · 07/02/2016 20:13

Kirsty will not let this go. She is different to the other characters in that she didn't like Knob from the start (and initial distrust shared by many characters) but she then left Ambridge and so wasn't around as he smarmed his way into people's good books while Helen sang his praises to anyone who would listen. Kirsty returned months later on exactly the same page she had left off when it came to Knob - she was astonished that Helen was married, that she was giving up work because she had not had time to get used to these things gradually and modify her views. She can't stand him, she distrusts him and she can't understand why others don't feel the same. Go Kirsty!

enochroot · 07/02/2016 20:14

He can't be there in the hospital all the time.
When DH had a stroke I could only get in to see him at visiting times. It broke my heart to leave him speechless with absolutely no mental stimulation for 19 hours in 24. If I could have stayed longer I would have so I don't understand how Rob can possibly pull that one off.

I hope Henry is being really indiscreet while Pat's looking after him and I hope the perinatal psychiatrist is on the ball.

DadDadDad · 07/02/2016 20:14

I took it that Rob deleted Kirsty's number from Helen's phone. Didn't he sort of mumble "in fact..." Then there was a bleep. That would make it harder for H to call K, but maybe blocking makes no sense.

If I wanted to block a number on my wife's phone, I'd be five minutes arsing around with the menus before I worked it out, so obviously Rob's very familiar with how to do it.Sad
