As for Rob if he won't go near Helen which Isuspect is the case I imagine that would make him feel justified to go elsewhere.

Dumdedumdedum · 03/02/2016 09:16

Small, I hadn't realised there was more than one of this ilk - I'd only heard of Julien Blanc before today. Horrifying people.

bakeoffcake · 03/02/2016 09:19

enochroot "Please SW, forget about playing it out in real time. Enough now. Get Helen out of this quickly"

I said exactly the same thing last night to DH- enough is enough, we don't want to listen to this abuse for months/years to come. It's too much now, I felt really sick after listening yesterday.

firesidechat · 03/02/2016 09:29

Listened to about 30 seconds of TA last night just at the point that Rob was talking in "that voice" to the teacher and it was enough for me. I'm now a nervous listener - put radio on, get completely raging/freaked out by the Rob and Helen story and switch radio off. Such a shame.

doesthatmakesense · 03/02/2016 09:36

I'm very much hoping that if the knob-hell in horror show keeps us all reaching for the off-button that the sw will be forced to bring things to some kind of conclusion...

Just giving page for Helen Titchener (Refuge) although it may make as much sense to go direct to Refufe or WA to donate.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/02/2016 09:55

dumte as wellas his hateful opinions on making rape legal on private property to avoid poor inmocent menz being unfairly charged for forcing themselves on women he has also written an article on the 5 reasons you should date a girl with an eating disorder. Shock I imagine Knob would be a big fan.Hmm

Gruach · 03/02/2016 10:42

Not sure anyone linked to this in any previous thread? Short legal article on Helen and the new law.

enochroot · 03/02/2016 10:53

We deserve a good outcome now.
The policies for identifying and dealing with abuse are in place in education and health authorities along with training. They've been developed by really bright, experienced people.
(A chiropodist last week noticed a mark on DH's ankle where he'd scratched. I'd already treated it but she questioned me closely and I felt uncomfortable.)

I would like this story to swing round now to 'the escape'. I want Helen to access help or for help to force itself upon her. I want her to be believed and Rob's bluster to be shown for the empty air it is.

As I said last thread, the public information element of this part of the story has been covered. Now it's time to show the safety nets swinging into place and working in the victim's favour.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/02/2016 10:53

Interesting article although I am still not convinced the law apply to Helen (she should go for a sexual assault prosecution). Unless it turns out he has been bugging the house or tracking her phone. Because although he stopped her from driving she didn't actually say she wanted to keep driving. Likewise she hasn't said she wanted to go to see her family. Again with the Kirsty incident she didn't say I kept it a secret because you won't let me go anywhere.

I am NOT saying he isn't an abusive twunt but as she keeps agreeing with him it would be hard to prove in law as I am sure his barrister would just ask "Did you indicate to Mr Titchener at sny point that you would like to keep driving?" Etc. Etc.

Thankfully she can just ltb for any reason she likes and has no obligation to prove anything and WA will support her.

ColdTeaAgain · 03/02/2016 13:02

Until she talks to someone ( Kirsty? Midwife? Patbot?) it's hard to guess whether she even realises herself how bad things have become. We need to know what she is thinking!

Wondering if Kirsty will get a OTT telling off from Knob about daring to encourage H to do something enjoyable and his anger will serve to confirm her suspicious that, not only is he a knob, but a nasty, evil knob!

PseudoBadger · 03/02/2016 13:17

Are you suggesting an Am-Ex special with Helen's inner monologue? Shock

Gruach · 03/02/2016 14:07

Why on earth would Helen think a five year old (?) can keep a secret? She'll soon learn ...

Gruach · 03/02/2016 14:12

It's her child!

AngryAngryAngry

sunnydayinmay · 03/02/2016 14:28

It's going to go one of two ways: either the SW play a blinder and actually get her out of the situation, with the proper support and show other women in that position that they CAN leave, and rebuild their lives.

Or, the nightmare scenario that she leaves, he pursues a campaign against her, alienates her, fights for custody (Helen lies to school, persuades her son to lie= unfit mother etc etc)... That SL is not going to do anyone any favours. It would be downright cruel.

spiker · 03/02/2016 14:58

Think ColdTea is right - knob will have a go at Kirsty now

NotdeadyetBOING · 03/02/2016 15:04

I agree that we (the loyal listeners) have suffered so much now listening to this vile story unfold that we are due a 'happy ending'. It's all getting a bit car crash now; let's tune in to see what horrors Knob can bestow on Helen tonight etc. For my sanity and faith in humanity I need to see the bastard get his come tuppence and her come to her senses

COME ON, KIRSTY!!!!!

NotdeadyetBOING · 03/02/2016 15:06

What I'd really like in an ideal world is for someone to come across the corpse of poor old Pavel during some building works. And, hey presto, Knob's evil doing is exposed still convinced he bumped him off

NotdeadyetBOING · 03/02/2016 15:06

Sorry - not Pavel. Stefan. Anyway - you get my drift...

enochroot · 03/02/2016 15:20

I'd like that too, BOING, but preferably after the abuse has been exposed. Then he can be done for murder, GBH, theft etc. when he's already a known abuser.

What would be the penalty for abuse, if proved?

I wonder how many Ambridge residents are going to say they always knew there was something wrong about Rob.
What was it Ann Widdecombe said about Michael Howard? 'There is something of the night about him.'

ColdTeaAgain · 03/02/2016 15:41

Are you suggesting an Am-Ex special with Helen's inner monologue?

Grin no just to be clear SW's if you read this we do NOT want that! Grin

songbird · 03/02/2016 16:19

although it would be interesting to see what the SWs think would be going through Hell's mind

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/02/2016 16:41

his come tuppence is that where he gets the piece of your mind he's been asking forGrin

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/02/2016 16:49

Sentencing - up to 5 years for the offence of coercive control.
All other DV comes under other offences e.g. imprisonment, physical assault, sexual assault etc. With the fact that it occurs in a domestic setting considered an aggravating factor as is her pregnancy, the financial control, if it is witnessed by Henry, possibly her ED and if she is forced to leave the house.

so says judge Google

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 03/02/2016 16:54

He would also get a longer sentence if she could get Jess to back her up. (Which makes sense as there have been recent cases in Scotland when the defendent has been charged with offences against both their current w and ex w(s).)
