The Archers. No need to share the thread with anyone else darling, we can have a lovely time just us together. It must be Henry's bedtime.

Plot breakdown I beg you! (Pleading voice)

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 02/02/2016 19:18

I couldn't hate him more

I don't think he'll hit her.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 02/02/2016 19:20

Agree *Sticker

Stickerrocks · 02/02/2016 19:20

Nags I could be as cruel as Rob and just taunt you with - use your imagination & make it worse!

TopOfTheCliff · 02/02/2016 19:21

Nags helen left her phone lying around and Rob found it. When she was waiting for Henry at the school Rob popped up "just passing" and intercepted her and was deeply creepy and chilling and scary. I don't want to listen to this any more! Needless to say she didn't go on the train ride.

enochroot · 02/02/2016 19:22

So....
He checked her phone and found she had talked to Kirsty, probably read K's texts.
Was supposed to be in the shop but happened to drive past school
Had the story about the wrong date for Drs appointment all ready for the teacher. The story belittled Helen to the teacher.
Left Henry broken hearted.

phoebemac · 02/02/2016 19:23

Top I feel the same about not wanting to listen any longer. That episode made me feel a bit ill.

BYOSnowman · 02/02/2016 19:24

I don't think he will hit her - she is being compliant and apologetic. she's obviously scared of him though

he is a brilliant actor though!

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/02/2016 19:25

I wish he just would hit her and then people would realise.

He's far too clever for that though.

enochroot · 02/02/2016 19:30

If the teacher is worth her salt she'll be gently questioning Henry. Lad's going to be too upset to cope in a lesson anyway and teacher heard Henry say 'our day out'. She might not like the way R made Helen look such a fool.
She might reach the right conclusion.

Shallishanti · 02/02/2016 19:32

mm, but in her head it may be 'silly mummy taking her child out of school for a treat vs sensible daddy who values education but made an excuse to cover up for silly mummy'

bigbuttons · 02/02/2016 19:33

Hand on mouth during that one.
He has no need to hit her. That's not how men like him operate.

EsmesBees · 02/02/2016 19:40

Feel incredibly relived that Kirsty has figured it out and is actually talking to another character about it (even if it is only Roy). Surely it can't be long before she voices her concerns to Pat or Tom.

Gherkinsmummy · 02/02/2016 19:44

It's actually horrid to listen to. But why why why did she tell Henry! If anything, once she started down this path it would have been better to tell him they had a doctors appt as well.

How much longer - please Kirsty talk to Pat, talk to Ian. Doesn't Kirsty work at Grey Gables? You'd think she and Ian's paths works cross.

Imbroglio · 02/02/2016 19:45

Rob is alert to Kirsty and will be thinking of how to keep her and Helen apart, so I agree its good she's voicing her concerns.

Does Roy still hang out with Tom?

enochroot · 02/02/2016 19:45

Helen's obvious distress should have made the teacher's antennae bristle though.

I'm amazed H still has a car of her own and that she still has access to the keys. He never thought she would defy him that much, did he?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 02/02/2016 19:56

wish he just would hit her and then people would realise.
Lots of women in her situation ironically wish the same. Then you have proof. There can be no doubt and you have a reason.

If she leaves Rob now, heabily pg with his child for no obvious reason, less imaginative people will feel sorry for him not her.

He is a wankbadger though. That was horrible and the way she kept saying "I don't know" i wish she had just saud I FEEL LIKE YOU WON'T LET ME GO ANYWHERE.

then at least he'd have to say that's ridiculous and she could say great I am off out tmrw.

spiker · 02/02/2016 19:58

I can't bear it I can't bear it

Did anybody else actually get all panicky during that episode?

Imbroglio · 02/02/2016 20:00

It feels like the situation has cranked up a gear.

Minimammoth · 02/02/2016 20:05

That's it ? I think I will pass on that episode. Thanks for the warning. Tell me when something good happens.
I am loving Brian at the moment though.

Scarydinosaurs · 02/02/2016 20:09

It will go quiet again for a few days and Helen will have bruises on her arm.

zen1 · 02/02/2016 20:11

I'm actually 4 minutes into listening to the episode on iplayer. From the "Henry's going on a little trip" episode synopsis, I thought it might be a hard one to listen to, so I paused it and came on here to check the situation. Now I'm not sure I want to listen to any more. This could potentially drag on for years.

Clover55 · 02/02/2016 20:14

Hi. I'm new here. I just wanted to find somewhere where I could go arghhhhhhhhhhh! The storyline's making me feel so uncomfortable - I know in real life these things can go on for years but it's not good radio listening. Come on Kirsty, sort it all out.

spiker · 02/02/2016 20:16

I don't think violence will enter into it. Not while Hellin is submissive at any rate.

BitOutOfPractice · 02/02/2016 20:19

spiker yes I did. I felt very anxious
