Anyone else listening to this short story on Radio 4 ?
Its about a woman whose husband leaves her, and is struggling to survive on her own with two children. It's heart breaking. I am counting my blessings for the things I have.

I got something in my eye today while I was listening to it.

I agree. Very difficult to listen to, I'm getting very anxious on behalf.

should read on her behalf!

Just too depressing for me, I'm afraid. I've turned it off both times it has come on when I've been listening. I have the radio on as background entertainment and don't feel guilty about switching channels if it's only going to make me feel miserable.

I keep shouting at her: Get onto mumsnet! Get legal advice! Don't let him bully you, mess you around, fail to support his DC! She really needs the vipers!!

I thought it sounded like it had potential but it was too one sided, she was the goodie he was the baddie, plus all the wittering on about dust became irritating. Leaving a 13 year old in charge of a 10 year old overnight sounded stupid as well. Why not dump them with their dad. Where were her family and friends? All too unlikely and designed to manipulate emotions rather than tell a realistic story. She also sounded too well spoken not to realise her house would have gone up in value and 2k was unlikely to buy her husband out.
