So many possibilities.... A visit from the Titcheners Snr? Baby of the wrong gender? A ruined wedding? Re-housed Grundys? RuthRex?

The trouble with Joe criticising the shop design is that, Knob being Knob, he will say that the fact that a 94 year old doesn't like it simply means it isn't 70 years out of date and will appeal to the hip modern demographic he wants. We need the likes of the Fairbrethren to come in and sneer to get him really worried.

All pointing to a Grundy Christmas at Grange Farm, with the Ghost of Christmas Past, Oliver, Caroline and an enormous Grundy turkey.

What IS Pat thinking?

Loved Joe. He's almost the only character I still believe in.

Fingers crossed for Phoebe

trevortrevorslatterfry · 27/11/2015 11:04

I listened in real time last night but turned off when Clarrie and Eddie were sitting down to have a chat with Joe - couldn't bear to hear it. Now off to catch up on this thread to find out what I missed Sad

enochroot · 27/11/2015 12:18

Everything is going so smoothly for Rob. I feel Comeuppance is nigh.
I can't bear it much longer.

AnnieNoMouse · 27/11/2015 12:20

I'm not sure that Joe has enough care needs to get him an LA funded place in a care home, certainly not at short notice. He could claim as a homeless person and given his age would be treated as priority, but hat could mean a hostel place in the short term.
Eddie and Clarrie are in their 60's? The 3 of them might qualify for a flat somewhere - but that didn't go well last time did it?
The solution of putting a proper bed in the living room is still passing them by whearas I hink Clarrie would have thought of that straight away.

BYOSnowman · 27/11/2015 12:42

I think they would have thought through every possibility before even considering a care home. They seem to be looking at pretty awful properties so surely a council provided place would be as good if not better. But then they still have a home legally

ppeatfruit · 27/11/2015 13:13

Does anyone remember the conversation between Emma and Clarrie about the oldies being offered Will's place "until they find somewhere else" The ridiculous Clarrie turned it down and I thought then, well she has to to do that so the lucky listeners get the tragic storyline of near homelessness.

BYOSnowman · 27/11/2015 13:32

Yes - clarinet and Eddie would never turn that down over keeping joe out of a home

Although wasn't it ed and Eddie who had the conversation?

ppeatfruit · 27/11/2015 13:35

Maybe there were 2 conversations because I've missed some.

MissFenella · 27/11/2015 13:41

There is no way Justin E would ignore his long standing deputy's opinion and go sniffing around people he does not know to see what happened with Rob. It does not ring true at all.

Clarrie seems determined to shove Joe in a home and is juts not thinking.

Pat's personality transplant is un believeable

Someone other than Tony needs to start telling Rob to nob off - and ask questions about how he is funding his lifestyle?

I love it :D

BYOSnowman · 27/11/2015 13:44

I could be wrong peat

Re Justin e - he and Charlie were allegedly so close that we spent a lot of time speculating as to their relationship status - so this is a character whitewash. Again.

Whatevva · 27/11/2015 13:59

What happened to the flats where that strange barman/milkman lived with Jazzer. They turned the cat and fiddle into flats too (or are they the same ones Hmm.

enochroot · 27/11/2015 14:00

i think the only thing we 'know' about the relationship of Charlie and Justin is that Charlie wants to keep secret his homosexuality, not expecting Justin to be OK with it.

Justin has appreciated C well enough to entrust him with managing BL's affairs so there's no reason why he should distrust him now and blame him for things Rob was responsible for until very recently but C daren't tell the truth because of Rob's strong hint of blackmail.

It's Jennifer's loss of memory regarding Stefan that I can't get my head around.

Whatevva · 27/11/2015 14:04

Then there was the place the brummie-that-ended-up-in-a-camper-van-at-Shula's lived, with the woman who worked at the Laurels, when she moved on. And the place Amside turned into flats, after using wotsit to hasten the demise of the old boy who lived there. There are always places for blow-ins, just not the Grundies. They all vanish whenever they need somewhere.

ppeatfruit · 27/11/2015 14:15

Whatevva wasn't that house owned by Peggy now Hazel? so probably been tarted up by the delightful Hazel too.

Whatevva · 27/11/2015 14:26

I think it was one of Lilian's - she was persuaded to let it to them to help Jack out as E........... (can't remember her name) was his favourite carer and she was also doing Peggie's cleaning.

GruntledOne · 27/11/2015 14:29

I don't think they're suggesting that there's a shortage of accommodation, just a shortage at the price the Grundys can afford, which isn't unlikely.

outputgap · 27/11/2015 14:41

Yeah, that's true, but Lillian loves Eddie doesn't she? If she had something coming up I'm sure she'd do them a deal. But of course he hasn't even asked her. Fat Paul yeah, but his only friend who happens to have a property development company, nah, no point asking her.

Thankfully I have stupidly low blood pressure, so the Archers is probably providing a public health service to me.

Whatevva · 27/11/2015 14:59

Of course, Matt ran off with the assets of Amside - quite how he managed to sell all that property is another matter - someone he met on the ferry?

HumphreyCobblers · 27/11/2015 15:15

Delurked to say that I just couldn't bear to listen to them telling Joe he would have to go to a home Sad It is so unlikely, and so sad. I wish they would just stop with all of this nonsense, Pat's personality transplant is driving me insane too and as for all of the banging on about Helen being in an interesting condition

PseudoBadger · 27/11/2015 15:16

So annoyed they couldn't even pay the Tom and Tony actors for the shop opening!

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 27/11/2015 15:24

They blew the budget on the shoot episode

Hadron21 · 27/11/2015 15:44

The homeless issue has been so poorly researched that it's making my blood boil.

A care home funded by the Local Auth would cost £600 per week at least. There are limited places for people with care needs, so there's no way that Joe would be allocated a property.

All three of them would qualify for sheltered accommodation - a nice flat in a complex with a warden on site. All funded by the LA, AND they would be a priority.

The LA would most likely offer them a two bed place.

Go to the council housing department!!!!!!!!
