R4 lovers, what programme[s] do you hate?

In an effort to avoid writing an essay ...

Those of us who are almost constant R4 listeners (I get tense when it switches to the World Service for the night), what programme/programmes can't you stand?

I love quite a lot of it, will put up with a lot more rather than switch over, but there are some programmes I genuinely destest. The Moral Maze is probably top of my list.

Any others?

Surely there should be some sort of red button equivalent so that I can have the programmes I want at any time via the actual radio without having to have the computer on in the bedroom.

There is. The Evoke Flow does just that.
However I found it didn't work all that well.

Fink · 23/11/2015 21:24

The Evoke Flow, brilliant! Never heard of it and just looked it up. Hmm, I wonder if I can get a Black Friday online deal on that. But it didn't work for you? Maybe they've improved the reliability [hopeful]

No, don't get the Evoke Flow.

It sounds like a brilliant idea, but actually you're much better off putting your iPad on the kitchen worktop and using that as a radio instead.

Pipbin · 23/11/2015 22:16

I agree with Sliver. It doesn't really work - I only posted it because it does, theoretically do what you wanted.

I also subscribe to the IOT podcast. I love The Archers, More or Less, science programmes.

I hate Any Answers.

But I will forgive everything because of Cabin Pressure. My DC can quote vast swathes of it and we all find it hilarious.

SelfRaisingFlour · 08/12/2015 19:12

I can't stand The Food Programme. There is something so smug and boring about all those organic artisanal producers. That's the show I turn off.

I like Today and More or Less. I don't listen to the Archers much, but quite like it when I do hear it.

I find those "let's wander around this field listening to birdsong" programmes really dull.

Boomingmarvellous · 09/12/2015 19:30

The bloody 'Food Programme'.

Elitist, snobbish and condescending, particularly the presenter!

Just love that extra virgin, triple filtered, goats cheese marinade crap.

polyhymnia · 11/12/2015 23:16

Yes definitely another vote here for the Food Programme. Smug, precious and worthy.
Amazing how they can turn a programme about one of the best and most joyful things in life into such a dreary bore.

polyhymnia · 11/12/2015 23:17

And agree the presenter is awful.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/12/2015 08:51

The Food Programme is a pile of holier than thou, middle class, locally sourced wank. Makes me seethe.

VioletRoses5 · 13/12/2015 22:59

Whatever guff is on a Saturday morning with Rev. Richard Coles (?). It sounds like a Radio 2 programme Hmm.

Travelledtheworld · 17/12/2015 20:09

Round Britain Quiz.
Have hated it with a venom for decades.
Thought once they got rid of Irene Thomas and John Julius Norwich they would junk the show. But no, it keeps going on with another team of utter pretentious twat heads.
