Do you know that I was 3 months pregnant when the first thread started - DD was 2 yesterday Cake

That must also mean that Poppy Grundy's 2nd birthday has passed by unremarked upon...

I could have poked him in the eye for the 'what happens in a normal pregnancy' comment.

Minimammoth · 09/10/2015 17:12

This is me who can't bear to listen any more Blush

LyndaNotLinda · 09/10/2015 17:23

Ugh yes 'normal' pregnancy got my back up. Her appt was absolutely credible (for once! ) - you just get referred to the midwife team.

Did she say that she's going to see the MW in 2 weeks? So she's 10 weeks? Does that fit with the rape?

enochroot · 09/10/2015 17:32

Helen lies and is a clever manipulator in her own right so I go back to my original stance of saying she's not pg.

I was an elderly primagravida so the GP wanted to see me. Scared the crap out of me too but announced I would need 3 months sick leave before mat leave so I loved that!
Warned me against soft cheese, soft eggs and liver. I then craved liver and onions for months.

Shallishanti · 09/10/2015 17:33

well I hope she's faking it and it buys her some time, also that the mw does what she is supposed to do and asks her about DA

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/10/2015 18:02

I was very impressed by the mention (on the old thread?) of a clever system of having plain stickers available in the ladies' loo that women can take and put on their notes without their abuser knowing. When a midwife sees one, she will know without a word having to be said that she needs to find a way of seeing this woman on her own. Sad

DadDadDad · 09/10/2015 18:04

On the previous thread, NorthernLurker calculated a due date for Helen of 19/5/2016 which would mean this is only week 8 of the pregnancy.

LyndaNotLinda · 09/10/2015 18:18

That was in my clinic Gasp (the stickers). No one told me to take extra time off and I was ancient when I had DS!

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/10/2015 18:52

Because Helen lies. Quite happily. Not just over big things like drunk driving, but over little things - like jewellery making classes. Anything to get what she wants.

Exactly. Lying, manipulative and entitled (although v well acted).

But I think SOC (not SpOk - Spawn Of Knob) likes her.

lottiegarbanzo · 09/10/2015 21:26

Yes to the veracity of the booking in process. See doctor - have to, to be referred to MW for booking in - they say 'done a test? Right then. Due date is this, maybe I'll take your blood pressure. Bye'.

Can the DP attend booking in? Never tried that. Surely they'd have to find a way to ask the DV question privately.

I think she is preg but may be trying to plot a way out.

LillianGish · 09/10/2015 21:27

Where is everyone? Can't believe there is actually going to be a poachers story - I was so sure it was Scruff. The four poachers with their dogs and guns (all conforming to The scenario as outlined by Brine) just seems unnecessarily over-dramatic when there are still so many existing loose ends to tie up - the Grundy's housing for a start. Is someone going to get shot and if so who?

BYOSnowman · 09/10/2015 21:29

It's bringing a little bit of the east end to ambridge

I bet two of them are called reg and ronnie

CuttedUpPear · 09/10/2015 21:54

I liked the poachers story tonight. It helped me forget all the horrible EA stuff going on. I think we have this story every year don't we?

EBearhug · 09/10/2015 22:13

Perhaps Scruff was rescued from the flood by the poachers, and thus has been lured into a life of crime, and Lynda will save him from the baddies.

Gruach · 09/10/2015 22:51

We seem to have darling Ed put in harm's way on Will's behalf almost every year - usually the blessed shoot. Every time they're together outside I worry about Ed.

(But Pseudo look how they dragged Joe in for the hasty re-write to include Poppy's just turning two.Grin )

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 10/10/2015 09:43

minimamoth the "normal pregnancy" comment pissed me off too. But virtually everything Rob says pisses me off.
I think she is pregnant - maybe a miscarriage is an the cards.

Quite liking the poachers story but I'm already scared for Ed.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 10/10/2015 10:00

I've said this before, but I cannot think of any story line where a character knows something we don't. The drama is in the unfolding on TA, not the reveal to the audience. Maybe there are examples I can't remember, but I think it would be a serious shark jump if Helen was pretending and we didn't know.

BYOSnowman · 10/10/2015 10:01

Don't be scared for ed (or will). They can't possibly kill off another male character and leave yet another widow.

And after Tony's goring it would be a little too much.

enochroot · 10/10/2015 10:19

There are so many grey areas in the Hel/Rob SL that we can't be sure what Helen's condition is yet. She does have form for telling lies when convenient for her.
She blurted out that she was pregnant when Rob was being particularly aggressive.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 10/10/2015 10:28

Yeah, but before this we have always known she is lying haven't we? I'm not saying the new guys aren't capable of switching the 'rules', but it would be out of sync with normal archers format.

She was taking a test and she'd been being sick - I think it's just that rob being aggressive hastened the moment at which she told him.

mummytime · 10/10/2015 10:32

Well following on from that, if Helen isn't pregnant we won't have long before we overhear her confession to Kirsty or someone.

But they can be subtle, they didn't expect everyone to realise Rob was a bad 'en so quickly.

dairyfarmerswife · 10/10/2015 10:33

Im not usually a fan, but I loved Joe last night, "Squire Titchener" "never mind 'er becoming a Titchener, 'e's becomin' an Archer, money grabbin' like the rest of 'em" and on the Fairbrethren: "all flash and no photo them boys" BOOP for Joe!

Gruach · 10/10/2015 10:47

Oh Looooord - I agree with you too Seek ...

What am I to do?

Confused
DadDadDad · 10/10/2015 11:25

Yes, I loved Joe's "all flash and no photo" - one to remember. How long before someone uses it on a MN thread?Smile

PseudoBadger · 10/10/2015 12:09

"But Pseudo look how they dragged Joe in for the hasty re-write to include Poppy's just turning two"

I know! Topical insert after a quick scan of my OP I reckon Grin
