I love David Sedaris!

His books are great too (I read them in his voice in my head)

I would too, Moonrise! We went to one of his recordings a couple of years ago. Hardly any re-takes necessary. Very impressive!

I love his R4 show but no nothing about him at all. Off to find out more...

Thanks Gaspode. Unfortunately I'm not in the UK so can't use the player I'll have to rerun some TAL episodes, I think.

I thought i-player radio was available everywhere? We certainly have some non-UK Archers listeners keeping up via the website...

Oh, I'll have a closer look so. I can do downloads and podcasts from BBC, but I seem to be missing or somehow blind to, an iplayer "button".

I find him so droll and his nasal voice annoying that even if he is saying something that could be interesting I just turn off the radio.

Do you mean dull? Gosh. I love his voice and even if I didn't he is so funny I'd persist. However, each to her own.

My regret = my family live in Chapel Hill and a couple of years ago I heard on the local radio that he was giving a reading in Raleigh. Ds, who would have been up for it, was away on a trip and my dil wasn't interested in going. a lovely girl but just sometimes we're not on the same wavelength.

He is appearing at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea in February but it's expensive!
