Is that a ferret in your (Gr)undies or are you just pleased to see me? Discuss The Archers vermin (so many possibilities!) here.

I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

25% is a good result, Topaz! There are four of us in this house - two parents, two adult offspring - and only one of us is deluded enough to be an Archers fan. Guess which one it is. Grin The rest do their level best to avoid it. I have failed, utterly failed.

florencedombey · 07/04/2015 19:40

So did we all enjoy Adam tentatively playing with Charlie's "twitchy" joystick then? Wink

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 07/04/2015 20:29

Ruari is 12 (since Nov) so presumably still needs a bit of supervision

Merse, they replaced the actor about 3 years ago but he still had a ridiculously Irish accent considering he'd been based at Home Farm for 5 years Hmm

So then they disappeared him again...

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 07/04/2015 21:42

Brookfield cows go out on Friday

Look at this SmileSmileSmile

guineapiglet · 07/04/2015 22:41

Thanks for posting that video the one, it's wonderful! I love cows and this made me want to celebrate their release with them...

P.s. Tonight's episode: lol at Kate planting strawberries Biscuit

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 07/04/2015 22:45

It's beautiful, isn't it, piglet?

Cows are such huge & awkward creatures, it's adorable to see them gambolling like lambs Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 07/04/2015 23:08

Kate doesn't quite seem to have got the idea of this "work" thing yet - and of course is so self obsessed that she wouldn't twig Charlie is interested in her brother not her.

Liked Susan's "wish I'd been standing closer " line. Grin

EBearhug · 07/04/2015 23:12

It's probably a good thing she hasn't clicked about Charlie and Adam, because it wouldn't be Rob who'd be outing them - Kate would just mention it in passing to someone.

ZeroFunDame · 08/04/2015 05:38

It was gruesome florence Grin

No doubt Charlie had "Unchained Melody" playing in the car ...

BitOutOfPractice · 08/04/2015 05:58

Erm Errol yes I did notice Jenny saying who it was. Which was the only way I realised it was Richard. I realise you're outraged by my suggestion they sound similar but...

Icimoi · 08/04/2015 09:33

Kate is totally unemployable, isn't she? Brine is going to have to face up to the fact that she's going to be demanding handouts for the rest of her life, unless she can find some other deluded man to support her.

mummytime · 08/04/2015 09:49

I don't know - I could see Kate adding some "woo" to Ambridge Organics. Although whether the bridge farm lot could put up with her telling them how to plant cabbages is another matter.

JessieMcJessie · 08/04/2015 11:25

Why on earth would Jenny say to Shula "Shula, surely (shurely?) you remember Richard?" Was their affair totally secret, such that for all JD knew Richard Locke is to Shula just the village doc from 15 years ago??

I also found Shula asking breezily "have you seen Usha?" a bit ridiculous.

stilllearnin · 08/04/2015 14:45

I don't know perhaps Shula was thinking 'don't mention Usha, don't mention Usha...have you seen Usha?...oh shit did I say that our loud'

stilllearnin · 08/04/2015 14:48

And Kate will find a man - he will be massively unprincipled but keep her in the manner to which etc etc. oh and they will go live abroad of course leaving poor Feebs

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/04/2015 18:06

Jude would be a perfect match for Kate.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2015 18:15

Oh yes - when someone else mentioned bringing back Jude I was horrified but he and Kate deserve each other. He'd probably end up dumping her because he doesn't really like older women.

Minimammoth · 08/04/2015 19:37

Perhaps Justin Elliot will whisk Kate off, when he eventually appears. She needs a sugar daddy. ( keeping a straight face)

toothlessoldhag · 08/04/2015 20:32

ErrolTheDragon I thought just the same about the dresses. I see Lizzie as a slim, delicate creature and her big sister is this big, muscular soul who'd never fit in her dresses.

Minimammoth · 08/04/2015 20:48

Did anyone else think that that was a weird episode. What on earth was the Shulas dress thing supposed to flag up? ( dim)

mummytime · 08/04/2015 21:57

Maybe the dress thing was just to highlight the difference between normal male saying the wrong thing - Alastair. And abusive belittling comments - Rob.
I did notice Shula didn't tell Alastair about Richard, but then I'd have thought the car journey south would be the time to tell him - DH and I have best conversations in the car.

LillianGish · 08/04/2015 22:25

I think the dress was supposed to clumsily signal that Alistair isn't showing Shula enough attention so she'll get her head turned by Richard Lock and have an affair (secrecy has already started by her failure to mention him!) In fact I found the whole episode slightly irritating. Alistair has been conspicuous by his absence for months to the extent that I almost wondered if he'd actually left or was about to be replaced by another Troughton so it seems a bit much that he has to be pointedly brought back in now to disregard Shula when in fact he'd already been doing that for ages in a much less obvious way. If she'd gone off with Richard (if that's the plan) I would just have thought well that makes sense where is Alistair anyway? It's another example of sledgehammer script writing.

minkGrundy · 09/04/2015 00:29

I thought it was Alistair going through the motions but just doesn't fancy her anymore.

enochroot · 09/04/2015 10:06

I also got a hint that Alistair is becoming like his father!

I was an intermittent listener while the Richard Locke saga was running so please bear with me.

Was he married?
He was seeing Usha but then started an affair with Shula who wasn't married?
Shula had an affair with Alan at some point. Which came first?
Was Alistair on the scene during all this?
What has Lizzie got to do with it?

I got the impression that she was trying to prime Alistair that Locke was back in the village but that A was too pre-occupied to listen, thus giving her some cause -in soap land- to fall for Locke all over again.

R4 · 09/04/2015 10:30

The link that zero gave gives the backstory.
I don't remember Shula and Alan having a thing?

Shula was going to tell Alistair - she was in a hurry to tell him before he found out from a third party - but then didn't when they had time on their hands. She wittered on about the dress instead. Not quite sure why she didn't tell him, apart from that's what they do in SoapLand.
