Is that a ferret in your (Gr)undies or are you just pleased to see me? Discuss The Archers vermin (so many possibilities!) here.

I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

Am I the only one who read anything into Charlie's cricket conversation
"Are you a batsman or a bowler"
"Oh, a bit of both"
"You should come along to training, rub shoulders with some farmers and farriers"

I hope Rob is the father but somehow manages to cover it up from Helen, or convinces her to forgive him: to have her chuck him out for something as simple as being unfaithful would be a bit disappointing. It's one of the good story lines and they could sustain it for longer

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/04/2015 09:29

whoever wrote the 'hilarious' kitchen SL must be writing for Joe at the moment

as for rob feeling anxious - i guess it's like when you leave a shop having bought (and stolen) nothing and you feel a bit anxious when the security guard eyeballs you!

it's easier to explain away feeling anxious than it is to explain a bare faced lie!

trufflehunterthebadger · 24/04/2015 09:37

It's definitely Rob's. Jess has been far too emphatic about that and insistent on the DNA test for it not to be.

trufflehunterthebadger · 24/04/2015 09:40

My prediction is that Jess will turn up when she knows Hellin will be there, gaily waving her copy of the test results to make sure that Hellin knows. She knows what Rob is like and i have no doubt she will be overjoyed to assist in spreading the happy news.

As Rob will have lied about the results that will be fun :)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/04/2015 09:53

part of me wishes it isn't his so i never have to hear Jess again

enochroot · 24/04/2015 10:03

I wouldn't mind hearing Ursula again though. I bet she has something to say about this.

enochroot · 24/04/2015 10:42

Trufflehunter has got a point.
If Jess wanted merely to annoy him she could have gone on indefinitely insisting that it's his baby and not necessarily gone the official route but she's gone to the CSA, presumably knowing it would lead to a paternity test. She must be pretty sure of her ground.
She told Helen point blank that he'd slept with her after Helen moved in with him.

WipsGlitter · 24/04/2015 11:47

I have a feeling it's not going to be his, but as someone up-thread said where will the storyline go then. There's so many more possibilities with it being his.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/04/2015 12:03

i think there are less possibilities if it is his!!

if it isn't we get back to a 'normal' ea SL without the added drama of an affair with the ex

i suppose the sw could say they've got us all talking about is it/isn't it but my interest in it is purely to see what utter nonsense they can come up with next

enochroot · 24/04/2015 14:09

We might be none the wiser if all we hear is him telling Helen the test is negative.

RocknRollNerd · 24/04/2015 18:05

I quite enjoyed last night's filler episode - I like the little bits where we see Jenny and Lillian being sisterly and the 'nudge nudge' of when Charlie called Adam also made me chuckle a bit. There's too much family drama and sign posting most of the time so the occasional gentleness is a nice change.

I'm still cross as well at the Richard Locke story - presumably we're all supposed to know about him, Shula, Usha, IVF and whatever else but some of us don't (or wouldn't without this board) and it's really annoying the way we're all supposed to pick up where they left off decades ago...

Re Rob getting Jess pregnant, I believe Toby about covers the only reasonable response if it is his baby and he continues to deny it!

Icimoi · 24/04/2015 18:34

I thought that what Helen was taking to Rob was probably something boring like lunch. If she was going to see him around 2 p.m. I assume he couldn't come home for lunch, and he seems to be so utterly obsessed with having a home-cooked meal (and keeping tabs on Helen at the same time) that he could well have guilt-tripped her into taking it round to him. It was somehow typical of Helen that she regarded Rob's convenience as being automatically more important than her mother's.

Icimoi · 24/04/2015 18:35

Yup, bored to tears with the storyline about Joe's clothes. Can the SWs seriously think we are all rolling around howling with laughter at the concept of Joe in pink trousers?

Stickerrocks · 24/04/2015 18:58

Tension mounting. I'm deliberately delaying my trip to do the weekly shop until 7.02 so I can listen in Pearce. After such a big build up, I'm convinced it won't be his. At least I can howl in disbelief at the radio without worrying the neighbours.

Stickerrocks · 24/04/2015 18:59

Peace, not Pearce.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/04/2015 19:06

Pip still managing to go through thirty years and most of the British isles all in the space of three minutes

And wasn't that inappropriate flirting with her cousin

And what kind of lame 'relevant general election' convo was that. God that was dull - they even got suffragettes in there

And she so was too young to remember dr Locke

And if he does turn out to be dans dad I'm going to scream

Hakluyt · 24/04/2015 19:07

Rob and food again.

Given the road threat and the flood it's frankly impossible that a landowner's child like Pip would be so ignorant of politics - surely?

minkGrundy · 24/04/2015 19:11

Nooooooo

minkGrundy · 24/04/2015 19:11

How can that be?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/04/2015 19:11

Ahem, told you so... Even soc can't think we will think he forged the letter?!?

Whose dad sees the best in rob? Does he think he behaves the way he does because he is traumatised by his psycho ex hounding him?

enochroot · 24/04/2015 19:13

Rats! It's negative.

So what was the whole rigmarole about then?

minkGrundy · 24/04/2015 19:15

I think Rob will turn out to be a chimera (different dna in sperm that cheek due to being a fusion of twins) Wink

minkGrundy · 24/04/2015 19:16

...than cheek
