I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

How has no-one else spluttered over Charlie saying: "Adam's been hooked since I let him play with mine"?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/04/2015 11:54

No one else has a filthy mind, Elephants! Grin

R4 · 19/04/2015 13:26

It's because I am beyond bored with* the will-they/won't they, the who-is-leading-whom-on.
I have never liked whine-y, petulant Adam.
I don't like the charisma-free, cardboard cutout that is Charlie.
Ergo, I couldn't give a flying fig what happens/doesn't happen between them.

  • compare and contrast to the game being played out between HellRob which is an excellent slow-burn storyline.
BitOutOfPractice · 19/04/2015 15:30

I thought the scene in the pub on hellin's birthday was very telling. It's the first time I think, that we've heard the Knob bring openly angry and addressing with Hellin. Yes he's been manipulative and petulant. But never really openly nasty like that. Things will be coming to a very interesting head this week I think

BitOutOfPractice · 19/04/2015 15:31

Addressing = aggressive

toldmywrath · 19/04/2015 16:50

Gaspode - I give you a five out of five for your newrobopip actress selection theory.

toldmywrath · 19/04/2015 16:52

I didn't realise that DNA doctor was Dr Richard Locke, so thanks for the heads up pp's.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/04/2015 16:55

Thanks, told, but which rating system are you using, I wonder? Grin

toldmywrath · 19/04/2015 17:34

Oh that's a point Gaspode - I meant, of course, full marks to you!

Halsall · 19/04/2015 19:25

I can't express the enormity of my loathing for Knob. He makes my skin crawl with his faux-caring claptrap. And all his sneering, negative comments about pretty much everything...he hasn't got a good, honest, human bone in his body, has he?

ZeroFunDame · 19/04/2015 19:27

Angry When Rob finally gets his comeuppance I will replay it 100 times.Angry

BitOutOfPractice · 19/04/2015 19:36

I almost can't wait to see how he tries to worm his way out of the DNA results thing - providing he's the father!

Shallishanti · 19/04/2015 19:41

yes...how on earth will he get away with it?
doesn't he realise they arrange these things so as slimy bastards cant wriggle out of their responsibilities

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/04/2015 20:25

I was shouting at the radio again tonight and I blame Knob. Utter scum. Angry

EBearhug · 19/04/2015 20:29

Has Rob mentioned to Helen that they're trying for a baby? Didn't they previously have a conversation about it, and she said she wanted to wait, because of Tony's accident and everything else going on? I wonder what their contraceptive arrangements are. I hope Helen's on injections or implants or something that he can't easily sabotage.

Northernlurker · 19/04/2015 20:30

Do we think Rob is sabotaging Helen's contraception? Bet he's desperate to get her up the duff so that when the DNA result comes back he can cry and say ' but I didn't know she would GET PREGNANT when we had sex. The evil manipulative witch did it on purpose, You aren't going to let her split us up and deny OUR BABY a happy home ARE YOU?'

Big mistake to tell Tom though. Tom will tell his mum and she will ask Helen what the heck she's doing and Helen will say 'what TTC' and then the sausage will be in the fire.........

EBearhug · 19/04/2015 20:38

I don't know if he is trying to sabotage it, but I wouldn't put it past him to realise that Helen is not totally subservient to him, and pregnant/with a baby will bring her back in line and make her far more manageable. Also he might well think that not having a baby while Tony is in recovery - "well, he's doing more and more all the time, and you said you wanted to wait because of that, so it's fine now, and that's why I threw the condoms/your Pill packet in the bin, because you do want a little brother or sister but you'd better produce a proper son for me for Henry, don't you, darling? And you're not getting any younger, you know, so you can't just put it off..."

(I hope they string it out for a couple of weeks, so nothing too dramatic happens till I'm back from holiday.)

Kirk1 · 19/04/2015 20:55

I didn't know Knob and Hellin were trying for a baby? Does she know?

He really is a scumbag isn't he. Surely after this conversation Tom might get a little bit suspicious?

cheminotte · 19/04/2015 21:02

Not heard tonight or read the full thread, but is anyone else suspicious that Hazel Dooley is going to kick the Grundies out after she has renovated their home to a high standard?
Rob really does think he knows best, doesn't he?

EBearhug · 19/04/2015 21:26

I don't think Helen does know she's apparently trying for a baby, no.

And yes, I have every expectation of Hazel trying to boot the Grundys out.

Halsall · 19/04/2015 22:50

What's that horrible saying about keeping women barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen? Knob seems to have managed the kitchen bit, he's working on the pregnant, and by trying to go behind her back to scupper the shop idea, he's effectively trying to hobble her.

Vile, vile man. Listening to him tonight I realised how alarmingly Hellin (and, by extension, Henry) is under the cosh.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/04/2015 23:31

Poor little Henry. The ca before the episode tonight said something about rob and Helen and Henry having breakfast and I bet I wasn't the only one who had a sinking feeling of wondering what control freakery would ensue.

LillianGish · 20/04/2015 08:10

But Hellin's so lucky to have Knob! What about her conversation with Ian? Can't remember - did Knob tell her what he saw? She didn't exactly reassure him - "Don't be ridiculous - Charlie's not even gay!" Which is what most people in Ambridge would have said surely?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/04/2015 08:12

It was Helen that saw them and she very unwisely told Rob. Hmm

minkGrundy · 20/04/2015 11:08

What happened on Hellin's birthday again?

She has seen how horrible he is though. Way back when she was a fling, Jess arrived in Ambridge and he absolutely tore into H in the shop.

But yes I was surprised how much T went along with the Hellin she cannot possibly manage working line.
