Lilian should have posted on Relationships here. First thing everyone would have said was to assume the worst and withdraw all funds that Matt could get his hands on before he could clean her out.

David needs to tell kenton ASAP so he has he chance to cancel some of those five star hotels and try and downgrade his flights! Latte would be tough but in sure he can cancel the hotels and book into the local youth hostel.

But I can't say I blame Ruth in the least for her reaction now she's had a bit of time to get over the shock of David's unilateral decision. (well, of course we all know that Jill really was behind it even if he doesn't)

As to how it affects the others - Shula and Elizabeth probably haven't got too far with planning how to spend unbanked cash, and maybe both of them for various reasons may be a bit subdued in their indignation (feeling guilty and undeserving) - Kenton doesn't deserve much sympathy for being an idiot, but this is going to be really bad news for Lillian now Kenton won't be able to buy her share of the Bull.

Here's a thought - right out of the Ambridge job/house fairy's book of magical solutions.......

Jill still owns Glebe Cottage. She will carry on living either at Brookfield to look after abandoned David or at the Stables when Roof chucks her out.
Out of maternal guilt she can therefore sell Glebe and divide it three ways amongst Kenton, Shula and Elizabeth. I reckon it might be worth perhaps £250,000-£300,000? Maybe??? Thuse giving them a chunk of cash big enough to mollify their feelings though not obviously enough to build a riding school and whatever palace Lizzie was planning. How much is Lilian's share of the Bull? £100,000 would surely go some way towards it.

Only snag is what was supposed to happen to Glebe when Jill died? Has it already been promised to one of them?

Matt disappeared about a month ago. It is extraordinary that Liilian didn't stop access to her accounts in all this time, but I can imagine her not wanting to take that step, thinking it would finally cut all ties with Matt.

Dolphin, what a good point! Shula and Elizabeth are down to get Glebe from Phil's will, I believe. I suppose Jill could renounce her life interest in the cottage so the daughters could get their share now. Kenton was not due to get anything else because of having all his debts paid off twice before.

I don't think Matt can have just decided to abscond and then empty out Lillian's accounts - surely there must be something more sinister behind this?
