This is too much for me now. I need to meditate.

Zero: "Where's Debbie now she's been sacked?"
Auditions underway?

I think Nancy Banks-Smith deserves a gong for services to the radio listening public.
I have never disagreed with anything she has said, she's a tonic.

lljkk · 28/01/2015 14:11

Poor Phoebe, will be her nightmare come true to share a small cottage with Kate. Maybe reality check for K, though. I wonder if we'll get to hear a full version of events from Lucas' perspective.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/01/2015 14:34

I wouldn't necessarily want to search too hard for some of those (Kathy, Christine and quite a few others) but they should at least be silently 'present' in their proper relationships eg as someone mentioned a while back, Kathy should surely have been supporting Pat.

Anyway - at least Brian and JD are still on good form, and Kate too. No way will Phoebe want to move into the cottage with her! I have a slight fear that she's sufficiently unhappy with things (including perhaps being bullied at college?) that she'll drop out and seek refuge with Hayley. OTOH maybe this will catalyse Hayley's return - Roy may not deserve her back (esp after the new year's eve sobbing to Lizzie, he's clearly not properly repentant) but I'd quite like them to get back together with Hayely in a strong position and Phoebe return to them, just because Kate would hate it so much. (evil Grin)

ErrolTheDragon · 28/01/2015 14:37

ljkk - I don't think we actually need to hear Lucas's perspective, we've been given enough information to read between the lines. I rather like it when there's an 'unreliable narrator'.

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 15:04

Alistair escaped my list as well. I'd been taking it for granted that they were planning some grand exit-SL for him. But perhaps all we'll get is a text to Shula and a wry goodbye in the blog.Sad

Re Lucas - what would be bold would be for him to deliver Nolly and Sipho to their mother to be fitted into the holiday cottage. But it will never happen.

Or for Amy to become a district nurse (or whatever they may now be called) with Ambridge on her rounds.

And why oh why do we never hear about council funded carers in Ambridge? And does no one ever take a child to the nearest library - wherever it is?

I would really like to hear something of Will and Nic's everyday family life with their four children. Or people in the village going to visit Tony in hospital - Neil, Eddie, Maurice fgs.

I dunno - the whole thing seems further and further from reflecting RL behaviour and interaction these days.

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2015 15:10

Yes Zero we do hear ABOUT some of those characters, but poor old Lewis has disappeared from the face of the earth. He could have been a calming influence for Lizzie when in the throes of passion Grin.

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 15:26

Well quite. The Tony in hospital thing is particularly annoying. The Bridge Farm Archers are surely central to village life, loved, respected, employing locals, fighting their corner for local produce - and yet as far as we know not one person outside the family ever offered to drive Pat to Birmingham, and the greatest interest anyone's shown is to mutter "hows Tony?" and then go back to their pint. It's rubbish.

trevortrevorslattery · 28/01/2015 15:28

Good old Brine, seeing through Kate.

I reckon Matt has been kidnapped by gangsters and that's why there are only texts, sent by the kidnappers from his phone (no phone calls as there'd be a risk he could alert Pusscat to the situation). She will start receiving his digits by post shortly, with requests for money, mark my words.
EE enough for you?

Also I think poor Feebs is about to become the subject of a cyber-bullying campaign Sad

And. HOW can Bert take Carol to the dance? I know Freda is working but still I don't think that is on. Surely he wouldn't do such a thing.

Grah

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2015 15:32

Well did you notice that JD was saying that Feebs had been to see Hayley" a few times" before Kate arrived? There are things happening that we don't know about which is odd. I thought it was on air for the listener fcs.

JD must've taken Pat and Feebs to Brum. She's family though; Brum is meant to be a long way from AMB?

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 15:36

If Carol really is such a man-magnet then surely there should be hordes of dapper, moustachioed types beating a path from Bristol and Bordeaux to her front door.

I don't believe she's reduced to Joe and Bert. Perhaps she has a lothario in waiting who'll make an entrance on Valentine's Night.

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2015 15:39

Zero I think of Carol as being an ex hippie type with pretty flowing dresses and tops so would attract a similar long grey haired bloke Grin.

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2015 15:40

Well 'long hair round the edges' type Grin

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 15:41

Sorry - crossed you ppeat. I don't know how far, I classed it as an arduous daily journey. But the SWs really should have done more to show their friends rallying round to help and support and be involved. (With other things than just the farm work.)

EBearhug · 28/01/2015 15:47

JD must've taken Pat and Feebs to Brum. She's family though; Brum is meant to be a long way from AMB?

When I was growing up, I thought it was like home. Therefore Borchester (Dorchester) was about 5 miles, Felpersham (Bournemouth) is about 30 miles, and Birmingham (Southampton) is about 60. I have a vague idea that Felpersham is about half an hour away and Brum a little over an hour, but I'm not sure where I got that idea.

I also know that Borchester isn't actually a code name for Dorchester, but the relative distances still seem to fit. Actually, it could still be based on Dorchester...

ErrolTheDragon · 28/01/2015 17:14

Visiting tony in Brum when he was comatose probably was the sort of thing only family would do, but now he's on the mend and in Felpersham surely more would be going?

CuttedUpPear · 28/01/2015 18:21

Is there some kind of appearance from SOC after the show tonight?
Or have I got it hideously wrong?

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 18:27

I think it's the Policeman who will be making himself available on the blog tonight.

ZeroFunDame · 28/01/2015 18:28

Sorry - on Facebook.

R4 · 28/01/2015 18:54

Ambridge is supposed to be based on the village of Hanbury so is not that far from Birmingham. It's only about 20 miles or 40 minutes to QEHB.

CuttedUpPear · 28/01/2015 19:05

Ooh!
FB says PC Burns is waiting truncheon at the ready Blush

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 28/01/2015 19:09

Did jolene write that smutty innuendo?

Susan was fab tonight 'I don't nag', words to the effect of her being the soul of discretion.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 28/01/2015 19:15

Tom doesn't sound right. He sounds like he's reading from a script and highlighted by the other two being far more natural.

Be interesting seeing if Neil turns out to be right!! Nice to see Tom is still pig headed.

Hoorah - Oliver mentioned by ed, and Shula!

CuttedUpPear · 28/01/2015 19:23

I am looking at the FB webchat with PC Burns.
He is very disappointingly attired in a woolly cardigan.

I'm wondering about his response to a very um...controversial question which is rising in the list....

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 28/01/2015 19:27

I'm not on Facebook! What is the question!!!
