This is too much for me now. I need to meditate.

Grin Hello trevortrevor Agree about last nights' episode, but it has it's good and bad ones. Surely Lil's house is in her name?

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2015 13:08

If she downsized she'd do very well ATM.

ZeroFunDame · 26/01/2015 13:50

Why am I troubled by a (deeply unreliable) memory of Matt buying the Dower House for Lilian - because she wanted it?

It's complicated by all the off-shore assets he was apparently hiding from his ex-wife and the authorities. And of course they might have altered their respective legal positions when they (she) set up the company.

Would hate to see Lilian facing-off bailiffs at her door.

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2015 15:51

You may be right Zero I don't remember that though, I think she lived there (had bought it) before Matt arrived on the scene. Now I'm having 2nd thoughts ! Oh i don't know! Confused

ZeroFunDame · 26/01/2015 16:06

Just had a look - the BBC Ambridge locations page says that The Dower House was bought by would-be modern day Squire of Ambridge, Matt Crawford, for him & Lilian Bellamy.

But still not sure what that actually means now.

(Think Lilian had lived there in the past with her late husband, long before it became Caroline's home.)

ErrolTheDragon · 26/01/2015 16:10

Just not on for Jazzer to now only communicate through the medium of bagpipes. The pigs won't like it.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 26/01/2015 17:18

Wasn't it bought prior to prison so was probably put in her name. Given his status they would have put most assets in her name and it is he cash and 'not screwed down' he has fleeced her of.

Bluestocking · 26/01/2015 17:48

Didn't Matt lose a huge lump of his illegal, undeclared offshore assets during the AmbEx Russian caper?

enochroot · 26/01/2015 17:48

Remember Rob acting opposite Kirsty in the village play rehearsals the Christmas before last?
Kirsty hated him from the start and not just because she was worried about Helen eating her heart out for a married man. He really gave her the creeps.

So I think the SL was laid down before SOC took over and a wily scriptwriter has been faithful to it ever since with just enough ambiguity in it to slip it under the SOC's radar.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 26/01/2015 17:57

"Dramatic irony of Ian and Charlie agreeing to let bygones be bygones"

I actually heard that conversation as "we're oh-so-grownup so can totally carry on hanging out and blatantly flirting and it won't be a problem and we'll never have a quick grope in a dark alley again." I.e. lying to themselves and heading for disaster.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 26/01/2015 17:58

"a wily scriptwriter has been faithful to it ever since with just enough ambiguity in it to slip it under the SOC's radar." Think a few of us have mentioned this now - I'm thinking we should all actually shhhh lest the editor is actually reading this and decides to put a stop to it.

Wily scriptwriter, we salute you Thanks

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 26/01/2015 17:58

Agree Enoch

Funny how the SL that seems to have not pissed people off is a pre soc one...

enochroot · 26/01/2015 18:07

I figure that if SOC is to be believed he's been surprised by listeners' reaction to the story so he's twigged it now, Elephants.

enochroot · 26/01/2015 18:14

Can anyone refresh my memory of the Hel/Rob affair before that Christmas?

I remember some shady secretiveness about a bracelet that he gave her sometime in the summer. Were they hiding their affair even then and why? When did it become known that he was married?

mummytime · 26/01/2015 18:53

The shady secretiveness I remember was Helen getting her Mum to babysit while she went to "Jewellery making classes" and she bought a bracelet at a craft shop and gave it to her mother.

There was a watch that Rob gave Helen, but that was later. I'm not sure what happened about that.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/01/2015 19:02

Are you thinking of the tedious storyline that went on for many months about Helen pretending to go to a craft club so that Pat and Tony would babysit Henry? She was actually meeting Rob for nookie. Then she had to produce an artefact from all this crafting so bought one from a stall. Something like that, anyway.

CuttedUpPear · 26/01/2015 19:08

Yes Mimsy, and then Pat saw the necklaces that Helen had 'made' for sale on a craft stall.

......Ian!!!!!

GypsyFloss · 26/01/2015 19:11

SOC you lurker! We want storyline credits!!

CuttedUpPear · 26/01/2015 19:11

....another wedding!

What could possibly go wrong? Hmm

GypsyFloss · 26/01/2015 19:17

Indeed!

That was a great episode. I'm not mad keen on J'lene but the rest was good. It was nice to hear relaxed interaction between Helen/Ian/Emma with voices that are easy to recognise. And how lovely to have Ian back.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 26/01/2015 19:18

Oh god - don't let him loose on weddings. Has there ever been a wedding in eastenders or hollyoaks that hasn't had death, cheating, serious illness, jilting.... Need I go on

So he's done the jilting, Ian will find out about the snog on the morning, so does that leave a death for ed and Emma?

guineapiglet · 26/01/2015 19:21

Lovely to hear Ian again so full of life.... Obviously the next big story line will be Charlie turning up in his kilt singing Busted's 'Glad I Crashed the Wedding'....Grin

mummytime · 26/01/2015 19:35

Well Fallon and Emma are going to need premises soon, maybe they could move in and share the Farm shop? It would make sense, the Organic produce would provide a hight turnover product to provide a steady income, where as their tarted up junk would provide a higher profit margin.
As for the Dower House, obviously James and Leonie buy it. They make a nice Granny Flat for Lillian and have two Grannies on tap for free child care. And bring up Mungo in the Countryside (going on to the Cathedral school eventually).

choccyp1g · 26/01/2015 19:35

Ha! I demand SW credits. Do they get all their ideas off this thread?

If so here's a good one:

BRING BACK MATT!

Swannykazoo · 26/01/2015 19:37

Ian - yay!
