Sack the Sock - put a sock in it or pull your socks up - frankly we're a bit sick of it. The Archers is shit, discuss it here.

I have it on good authority that this is the thread that people enjoy more than the programme it's about Grin

OP posts:
BringYourOwnSnowman · 09/01/2015 19:08

Is that another indication he's dyslexic? Shame it wasn't robs fault.

Am I being mean to think that convo between tony and pat was badly written cringeyness.

ZeroFunDame · 09/01/2015 19:08

Who said dyslexia?

Poor Johnny. At least now he may get some help.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 09/01/2015 19:11

Is it common for people with dyslexia to confuse 3 and 8?

stilllearnin · 09/01/2015 19:13

Or sabotage?? Re johnny

TeenyfTroon · 09/01/2015 19:14

Please can you all go out for the evening (without your phones)? Since this thread started the nearest I can get to the end is 5 pages behind...

Dx3, is it moving faster than usual, or am I just reading slower?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 09/01/2015 19:15

Poor johnny

Is csa based in Belfast?

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/01/2015 19:17

Yep, here comes the Dyslexia Fairy with her magic wand.

enochroot · 09/01/2015 19:17

The sound of a penny drooping. Yes.

enochroot · 09/01/2015 19:18

Or even dropping....

ZeroFunDame · 09/01/2015 19:18

BYOS TBH I really don't know - but I can't thnk of any other reason why they would have him mixing up numbers.

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/01/2015 19:20

And Knob called Jess a bitch, too.

Haven't heard that on TA since (I think*) Eddie called Emma one when it all first kicked off between the Grundy brothers.

(*He called her something mildly Shock, at all events)

Shallishanti · 09/01/2015 19:21

sabotage I reckon but it won't be discovered for ages because johnny is so ready to believe he's uselessSad

GypsyFloss · 09/01/2015 19:22

I smell a Rob sabotage with regard to the numbers for Johnny.

Glad to see the baby hasn't been completely forgotten. So now what will Rob do? If he pays, he admitting it's his and if he doesn't and insists on a DNA test then he knows it's going to be proved to be his. Will Helen let the former go ahead without any questioning?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 09/01/2015 19:28

I think I may have been the first to suggest dyslexia.

DNA test now. Six months from now in comes the result:

Rob? It says here it's positive. How can that be?
Well, obviously that's a mistake. I'll appeal against it, of course. The science isn't 100% yet.

Six months later:
She must have spiked my drink. Frankly, Helen, I'm amazed -- and I have to say, disappointed too - that you could have thought otherwise. I thought we trusted each other. It seems that doesn't go both ways.

Icimoi · 09/01/2015 20:27

Knob is a bit of an idiot. I doubt that Jess went to the CSA without asking him first. If he'd just agreed to pay up he could have kept it quiet a bit longer. If Hellin found out, he could have passed it off as saintly Rob helping out the poor deluded ex.

cheminotte · 09/01/2015 20:47

I love how the Ambridge! idea has taken off! Can we fit Julie Waters in somewhere?

Numbers is dyscalcula rather than dyslexia. Was it his maths or English gcse that he failed?

Lilymaid · 09/01/2015 20:52

Julie Walters as Vicky (possibly now a little old for this role), Hayley's Mum (both because she can do Brummie) but surely she is ideal as Fagash?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 09/01/2015 20:56

Both, I think. Now that it's compulsory to stay on to 18, is there some sort of basic literacy/numeracy test that has to be taken by those who haven't a cat in hell's chance of getting a C grade at GCSE?

capercaillie · 09/01/2015 20:57

Still can't recogise Tom's voice so found this evening a bit confusing.

Please let Helen be strong. Did Rob know that she knew about the baby?

capercaillie · 09/01/2015 20:57

And Dominic west far too nice to be Rob...

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 09/01/2015 20:58

Me neither, capercaillie. I keep wondering why Charlie is so involved with the Bridge Farm stuff. Sad

ZeroFunDame · 09/01/2015 21:06

cheminotte I admit to knowing little about it but thought dyscalculia was a problem with mathematical concepts and calculation. Whereas mixing up 3and 8 is a problem with digits?

Icimoi · 09/01/2015 21:11

What about Tiger? I can't really imagine him with any voice other than the current one.

nauticant · 09/01/2015 21:18

When Tom comes on my brain just seems to switch off and when he stops I think "did someone say something just now?

The effect puts me in mind of the voice of the teacher in Charlie Brown.

ZeroFunDame · 09/01/2015 21:20

Matt? Ray Winstone via Hollywood. Obvs ...
