A bit of a longshot, but....

.... can any MNer help me?
Was listening to radio 4 at end of last week or possibly on Saturday, late morning (11ish?) as I was in the car. I heard part of a play, and wasn't sure if it was a one-off or a series. I only heard a few minutes but was intrigued.

It was set in the 2nd world war, I think, but it could possibly have been the first world war. There was a married vicar who was having an affair, a servant whose little brother had somehow disappeared, and a French or Belgian woman who had rescued a baby, but the baby was possibly really hers.

Does anyone have a clue what this was, and the title of the play/series, so I can find it on iplayer?

Thanks.

I think that you are talking about Home Front. It's on every weekday and is a very long term project - it will follow WW1 in 'real time' (give or take a century) for the next four years.

Gosh, not sure I can follow a series for that long! I was rather hoping it was a play so I could dowload it easily. Thanks anyway.

I heard that episode too, UsedToBe, also in the car! Or possibly the same characters in a later ep, though the plot sounds the same. It was on Aug 28th, though may have been repeated later. You can still listen to it here

But yes, as R4 said, it's part of a massive on-going serial. According to the site, they give you over a year to listen again, but it's still a big commitment for even the most dedicated radio fan...
