Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

stillearnin I like the way that Roy is surfing towards a plate of chips.
Motivational.

stilllearnin · 27/08/2014 13:26

CUP, I have seen Roy do it with two pints of beer in his hand but alas I have no photos of that. here's a quick link to some live polyester action and a pint of beer (am i allowed to do this? - i'm not with the band - in fact most of those on stage aren't with the band but still,

Mimsy - i saw him only recently for the first time without his costume on - embarrassingly I was well into the conversation before I reaslised who he was!

daisychain01 · 27/08/2014 13:56

I thought the "added suspense and flashback" of Woy up on the roof and Lizzie rushing out there in a panic and then her giving him one of Nigel's shirts the other day, was pretty contrived as well.

What's the betting Hayleee notices it and asks him "where did you get that shirt from?"

stilllearnin · 27/08/2014 14:07

It is not news to me that I am easily manipulated, but despite the crassness of it, I did get a bit panicky at the roof scene. Hayley will notice for sure but it will be another piece in the puzzle. I agree Christmas it is for the show down

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/08/2014 14:21

Poor Abbie too. Looks like her dad is already happy to prioritise his bit on the side over her

I hate it when big stories explode at Christmas. It's such a soap opera tactic.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/08/2014 14:31

But remember how we were deprived of the dedding of hwmnbn last Christmas? Though that was under the old regime.

HamAndPlaques · 27/08/2014 14:34

If Lizzie is adamant that the relationship won't continue then I see Roy handing in his notice without another job to go to, but refusing to give Hayley an explanation.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/08/2014 14:40

And just think of what Kate will have to say if Roy breaks up Phoebe's domestic life.

Grin
BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/08/2014 14:59

I reckon Kate will return to bask in it all. Maybe feebs will move out to sa

Jenny will be delightfully hypocritical about it - how could he do it to his darling daughter etc

BaroquePearl · 27/08/2014 15:52

I thought Freddie might have been lurking in a stall with a fag overhearing the whole grisly scene, but I assume that, if he had been, he would have had to run out retching long before Elizabeth uttered the horrifying sexual groan which concluded the episode.

GypsyFloss · 27/08/2014 16:32

Oh god , does that mean there was shagging with sounds effects? What are those writers on?

BaroquePearl · 27/08/2014 16:40

Gosh no Gypsy, just a kind of breathy, urgent "ouurrrrrggh!" followed by a mercifully swift cut to Barwick Green.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/08/2014 16:56

I feel sick just reading about it tbh

This is radio 4 for gods sake

I've only just got over accidentally hearing part of 'why do men pay for sex'

BasketzatDawn · 27/08/2014 17:03

To be fair to JD she ahs always strived to keep her family together. In spite of infidelity, hers and Brain's. Maybe Phoebe is 'too bright' to be affected by her father's bad behaviour and will head off into the world and make a success of her life. And she'll always have Hayley as a stable influence.

I await events - but it is such fun speculating. Grin I just hope they will go easy on the slurping from now on - in a few short months we've had Knob and Helen, now this pair. To paraphrase the thread title, ROTABOY IS STILL MARRIED.

PseudoBadger · 27/08/2014 17:04

Just take hold me again Roy, one more time....

OP posts:
BasketzatDawn · 27/08/2014 17:09

Yes, I heard 'why men pay etc' by accident too. But then I live in a home where a certain son blushes to hear his father was born in MiddleSEX. So we're a delicate crowd clearly. Grin

ColdTeaAgain · 27/08/2014 17:11

Kissing/sex noises on radio are much more eeeww than on tv. Quite frankly it should be banned.

Grin
GypsyFloss · 27/08/2014 17:13

Along with eating noises. That's right David, I'm looking at you.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/08/2014 17:18

Fun though! (Radio sex.)

Has occurred to me that under the old regime Phoebe's A*s would guarantee that she takes over Emma's cleaning rota. One would hope the new Ed has more respect for the education of lowly females. (If one really hoped that one wouldn't have been listening to poor Alice....)

ppeatfruit · 27/08/2014 17:33

But Lizzie actually told him she LOVED him FGS anyone notice the change since the tent sex to the new stable block sex. So what do we reckon? Will he run away to 'find himself' maybe. The locket is bound to have something to do with Hayley discovering and maybe she'll chuck him out she's quite a strong person, even though the SWs are playing her as if she's lost most of her senses. Most women would 've smelt a giant rat by now IMO.

CuttedUpPear · 27/08/2014 18:08

I think that if the gender roles were reversed and this was a powerful employer (Matt, eg) with their lowly employee (in the old days it would have been Brenda- tell me this didn't really happen) we would all be screaming out harassment and tribunal. The boss taking advantage of the secretary etc.

The way Lizzy went from 'I feel the same' (eg lurv) to just hours later 'This isn't real life, we just have to carry on as normal' reeks of manipulation by a higher power to the lovestruck and impressionable member of the lower orders.

She is quite, quite, 'orrible.

Though I did like the Juxtaposition Of The Day being a heifer giving birth as Lizzy and Rotaboy woke up together...

unitarian · 27/08/2014 18:09

I think if Freddie heard the stable romp he would stay quiet because he's been conditioned recently to feel that somehow he would be blamed for being there.
This will fester and scar him for life. He'll develop a pathological hatred of men in high-viz jackets.

CuttedUpPear · 27/08/2014 18:13

Which is the episode with the awkward dinner with Hayley not realising what was going on?
I listened to the film but didn't catch it.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 27/08/2014 18:16

It was a Sunday, I remember that much. Mike and Vickoi were there.

CuttedUpPear · 27/08/2014 18:18

Ah it must have been the one before last and therefore disparu.
