Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

OP posts:
cheminotte · 09/08/2014 14:02

There is a thread in Relationships.at the.moment called 'how far can he take stressed from work excuse' and I did briefly wonder if it was Hayley posting! Or one of you lot doing a spoof!

BabyGoose · 09/08/2014 14:28

If I was Fallon I'd be a bit freaked out by PC plods constant attention. Then again, I'd have just shagged him in the first place as I quite like men in uniform. Oddly though when I picture him he is wearing one of those old fashioned police uniforms like they did in Heartbeat.

FunLovinBunster · 09/08/2014 21:43

I bet our Keeera (sic) wears those god awful short white socks that have a frill on them.
Just saying.

cheminotte · 09/08/2014 22:22

Fallon is treating him like a mate but no more. Didn't she do that with Jazzer too?

Bluestocking · 09/08/2014 22:26

What is going on with Fallon? She is not usually portrayed as so insensitive. I felt quite sorry for poor old PC Exposition.

stilllearnin · 10/08/2014 09:54

Fallon is gay...because we haven't got many storylines running at once Hmm

Maybe she prefers to be single tho and hasn't realised that yet. I've got a few friends like that - although they do know it and don't get themselves into date type situations!

Pipbin · 10/08/2014 10:22

I've missed a few episodes over the last weeks. What happened with the combine?

CuttedUpPear · 10/08/2014 12:12

Adam gave Ed a shift on the combine. Ed persuaded him a bit, saying although he hadn't driven one of those digital ones before, he'd had a go on a virtual one.

Emmur was on board with him and they were having a nice farm-y moment together when something snarled up in the undercarriage.

Poor Ed was mortified and I was Sad Blush Sad

PetulaGordino · 10/08/2014 12:23

She's Just Not That Into Him

bit unfair to get him to do favours for her knowing that he really likes her, but that may be his fault given that he is the Postman Pat of the policing world

Pipbin · 10/08/2014 12:25

In Emmur's undercarriage? Wink

ppeatfruit · 10/08/2014 14:00

Pipbin No it was nothing like that Grin they were looking at the sky line etc. and chatting, he was not looking at the dashboard (which surely would've had a warning signal flashing or something to say that it was getting blocked up) Otherwise why pay effing thousands for a cheapo model?

ppeatfruit · 10/08/2014 14:05

Ref. Fallon she's always a bit weird about relationships (it's a SW thing IMO I find it a bit siily). I suppose it's due to wanting to keep her single for as long as poss. As if there are no other singles in TA.

Swannykazoo · 10/08/2014 14:07

I refuse to believe Piggoi doesn't know what a Cash convertors is. Surely she would have given one of her Alan Sugar style "In my day young people had to cut ther coat according to their cloth" harrumphs regarding Ed pawning the combine hard drive or worrever

StandsOnGoldenSands · 10/08/2014 16:09

Fallen likes PC Plot but he is a nice guy as opposed to all the dodgy lovers she's dated in the past so she is a bit scared of getting involved with him because she doesn't know how to 'be' around him. And she thinks he wouldn't fit in with her mates such as Jazzer (she does have a point there).

That's what she told Hayley a couple of weeks ago in Jaxx....

StandsOnGoldenSands · 10/08/2014 16:10

Dodgy lovers?! Dodgy wankers that is supposed to be Grin

StandsOnGoldenSands · 10/08/2014 16:11

And Fallon not Fallen obviously. Sorry. My phone is so annoying.

ppeatfruit · 10/08/2014 17:22

I just remembered that barman who turned out to be gay . He was a nice boy and she DTD WITH JAZZER Shock on the rebound yes she's fallen Fallon alright with wankers too your right StandsOn Grin Grin

TypicaLibra · 10/08/2014 19:02

Missed quite a bit of TA in recent weeks but heard some of the omni today.

Icimoi - I was going to put that exact same point about how implausible Ed and Emma's skintness is but read a bit of the thread and see you've covered that! If the SW are going to cover rural poverty can't they do it more realistically, like at least throw in a mention of tax credits. Even if Ed's income at the dairy is £0000 p.a. and Emma makes say £3000 a year cleaning, with him working over 40 hours a week and Emma probably 16+ they will be getting significant help. They now have zero rent to find, council tax, subsidised food etc etc etc ... highly implausible IMO.

If on the other hand they were living it up on credit cards I could see it but they lead very modest lives expenditure-wise.

Small point Zero - Vicky's original cows should all be on the go still - Ed has a small herd that he operates on a low imput low output basis, so the cows should have good longevity and live for many more years Grin

StandsOnGoldenSands · 10/08/2014 19:04

Oh and on the Ed thing...

I may be overthinking this but Charlie greatly needs A Local Yokel whom he can claim to have gainfully employed, in order to rebut the protesters' accusations that the digester hasn't brought new jobs to local people.

Ed is conveniently available to become the fall guy. Charlie hires him, Ed thinks he has secured a financial future for Em and the kids, they move into Tom and Brenda's old place, he has to go out and proselytise to the village about the wonders of Charlie, loses goodwill along the way, then Charlie gets planning permission, doesn't need Ed anymore and gives him the boot.
Probably with some more shouty-crack ego stuff about yokels thrown in for good measure.

Just a thought....

StandsOnGoldenSands · 10/08/2014 19:06

And going by Rob's word-to-the-wise routine in the pub this week, I reckon he will be the one to suggest the Evil Plan to Charlie....

Selks · 10/08/2014 19:18

Classic abuser. Rob didn't like feeling small next to Charlie, so he took it out on Jim. Not that we will hear, but I expect Helen would be on egg-shells when he gets home and spend all evening smoothing his ego.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/08/2014 19:25

Interesting point re the cows Libra. But I suppose that means Vicky would be quite possessive about them if the Tuckers sell up. She's unlikely to simply gift them to Ed.

Jim sounded rather ... cowed tonight. Surely Rob's bullying hasn't silenced him?

BasketzatDawn · 10/08/2014 19:33

I didn't know Fallon had DTD with Jazzer.

Primadonnagirl · 10/08/2014 19:43

No???!! She didn't did she?! Someone provide details please!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/08/2014 19:53

Fallon and Harry (previous barman) were edging towards itemhood and wanted a holiday. Kenton suggested they take the van on a road trip to the Edinburgh Festival. Jazzer somehow muscled in and then I think it was Kirstie who was persuaded to make up a four. Somewhere along the way the van broke down and they met up with a (male) ex partner of Harry's. Which was a surprise to Fallon. Ex invited them to stay overnight. Was obvious very quickly that the previous relationship would be resumed. Fallon took herself off to the van for the night where she was comforted by Jazzer.

Like any good Ambridge woman her mantra is "what happened on the way to, or at, a festival stays right there..."
