It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

basketz i will look at PDF versions of patterns on my iphone in an Extreme Knitting Emergency, but although you can zoom in and out it is as you say frustratingly small

i have though recently got a kindle (cheapest version you can get) and have worked out how to get the patterns on to that, which is great. obviously it's only in B&W on my version

an ipad or any other tablet would be fine though i'm sure

Wow- I've just caught up on the thread (up until just before Sunday evenings 7.02 broadcast -film listener here)
I felt sorry for Tom, surely Pat would have been on hand to try & steer Tony on the right path to reconciliation. But no, she left him to it -wouldn't a woman/mum be curious caring enough to listen in?

Since when did Fallon become so amazing at baking/cooking/restoring furniture?

OK-no need for Google as DH & DS knew the answer (S.H.I.E.L.D.) I don't watch that.

Wasn't pc burns being rather indiscreet / unprofessional telling Fallen that Pat wanted to talk to him later? I still find him a bit creepy, though nothing like Rob of course.

I think Tom is on a Scottish island. He's gone bleak.

basketz Over the past year or so I've acquired a kindle paperwhite, a windows 8 notepad and a smartphone. Knowing what I know now I think my ideal set-up would be what DD has which is a notepad with detachable screen which doubles as a kindle and a phone for handbag/satnav use.

I do like the foreign legion juxtaposition!

I missed the cryptic Lynda-in-the-70s comment but is it connected to her overreaction today to the mention of drink-driving?

Also the comment the other day about the bypass: is that a canny way of introducing the HS2 controversy without actually mentioning HS2?

I can't decide where Tom has gone. He has either gone back to his eco roots and is now residing in a yurt. Or he has realised that he will never make his fortune in Ambridge and is currently being introduced to dodgy Russians by Bren.

ok I really should know this but isn't Hs2 going through oxfordshire ish, not as far west as Borsetshire surely.

Report
R4 · 05/05/2014 22:12

The HS2 does not go as far west as Borsetshire, thank goodness, but does affect next-door Warwickshire (and a lot of other counties).

I wondered about that.

I don't know that Tom has gone to Brenda. I'd have thought she was still caught up with the whole John and having his life mapped out for him mindset.

Ooh, ooh, I just found a mp3 of the Doom Music (4a, or possibly 4b)

It could be my new ringtone...

Its true Linda did overreact somewhat,.but then she's never been known for her sense of humour has she?

And don't forget that HS2 is going DEVESTATE a huge part of London. Thanks, hot topic here!
I think Tony was awful, he seems to hate Tom. I am old enough to have enjoyed the 70s, best decade to be a teenager but I would say that. Maybe Lyndypops was a punk, it wasn't all Glam

Today's epi is just a bit clunky don't you think? I'm hoping Fallon will ignore all this obvious PC Burns stuff and decide to do something else other than being someone's Stepford Ambridge wife...

My everyday wine glasses are the Esso ones and I'm a mere stripling well mid thirties but surely not much older than Fallon & Emma

I could have had a huge collection of 'petrol glasses' - DH's uncle used to work for shell in the heyday of such things. I do have a few bits of petrol cutlery.

Ok so I'm not a massive fan of Moany but he really does seem to have had a personality transplant recently. I never remember him being quite so horrible.

Could Tony just be in denial? He couldn't mentally cope with losing another son, and the thought that his being vile would be the last either of them heard from him is making his brain shut down and he can't think past everything will be back to normal soon?

It might be clutching at straws, but there has to be some reason for him being quite so horrible.
