It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

Mummytime that crossed my mind too. They wouldn't. Would they?

Finally caught up with everything. I've been avoiding the threads most of the week until I had heard the episodes

Tis serious stuff

I could see him doing that. In fact I still harbour hopes that they will make it work.

So what is the outcome for Tom. Will he get back with K. Or sink further down only to be roused from his troubles to save his sister further down the line. Also you'd expect to hear from Helen.

I know somebody who lost his son and ended up cutting himself off from his wife and dd. I also have a friend who lost her brother and it made me realise how we tend to assume she's sort of moved on from this, when of course it will shape her family dynamic for her lifetime.

I'm listening to it on iPlayer for the first time :) I'm a bit confused because I've come in mid-storyline, but I'm enjoying it so far :)

Welcome, Lollipop! You'll get there in the end. Just ask if you want to know anything.

Oh - a new listener? Even more exciting than a new poster. It'll change your life Lollypop!

I've been trying all evening to sneak 15 minutes to myself for tonight's offering - and now I'm too tired. I gather Tomlet left a notelet? Ho hum. Not long till Sunday...

I enjoyed the May day preparations but was surprised that neither Fallon or Emma had heard if petrol stations giving away crockery etc. Most of the glasses in my parents house came from BP and I'm not that old!

Oh, Lollipop, what have you started? There's no escape, you know. They're still researching the cure.

I'm actually shocked at myself, I never normally listen to much radio, mostly just have music from iTunes on in the background at home. I blame Cabin Pressure for starting this...

When does the Archers go out on the radio?

Daily at couple of minutes past 7pm, repeated next day at 2pm, every day except Saturday. Omnibus (now christened the 'film' by someone's Mum a couple of threads ago!) Sunday at 10am.

When I started listening it was called the wireless. And I don't mean wifi!

7.02-7.15 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

All of those except the Friday episode get repeated at lunchtime the following day - 2.02-2.15.

Omnibus version (all six run into one): 10-11.15am on a Sunday morning (catching up on the previous week).

i-player has all episodes including the omnibus. You can get them all as downloads as well.

Happy listening!

Not that convinced by the Tony/Tom/John storyline really. Tony seems to have undergone a personality transplant, and John never used to get much of a mention before.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out though. I do hope we see Kirsty again, her persona has loads of possibilities now.

Honestly, between disjointed, random snatchings after superficial sensation and a deep archeological rethink of the whole enterprise - I think I prefer the latter.

So I only half agree with you Selks. The new Editor does have a stated serious intent; it's inevitable that there will be an awkward period of adjustment.

I'm finding it fantastic though - everything changing - real things - the leadership and direction of BL , farm inheritances, Jack's estate. Suddenly it looks as if they are actually looking seriously to the future.

maybe that's the point re the lack of mention of john? they don't as a family talk about him in a natural way and given their personalities and rather dysfunctional interactions the guilt/assumptions/misinterpretations have built up

Selks - I'm not convinced by any of it either - in fact, I'm finding this whole storyline dreary. I gave up caring whether they got married or not ages ago.

However the Shambridge site is just wonderful. The "Tribute to Clarrie" is sheer genius! Thank you MN

Baskets - I was away in Amsterdam all last week so have just caught up on iplayer (catching up now takes twice as long as have to read thread too). Did contemplate taking a peek while away, but felt it would be too sad !! Though dh was v sweet offered to find it for me. It seems to have gone even more EastEnders in the intervening time. I found Tony's outburst unbelievable - in fact I'm sure the old Tony would have had something to say to the SW (not that I think the actors get any say!) I did think they were trying to get rid of Tom to bring in son of John, now I think it is to get Rob's feet under the table. I'm predicting he won't be able to work with the new BL bosses and will take over operations at Bridge farm. My fave moment of the week was Jenny trying to offload her old kitchen onto Susan.

Sweet of you, Oddfodd and Lillian, to care about my Archers vacuum nest week. I only have a fairly heavy laptop and I want to travel light, so decided against it. Only option is BritishForcesBS on FM (not sure if that's possible) or coming back to hours of catching up on the cassettes at the back of the wardrobe. (I hope!) I did have a look at cheap Tablets yesterday, but think I need to know more before I spend that kind of money. (We are poor-ish)

I bought a cheap Nokia windows phone before we went away over Easter and half killed myself learning how to use it in a week but I'm fed up of DH leaving the camera behind so decided to take things into my own hands. Then I discovered that it got me podcasts too, hence our vicarious listening to The Archers on a balcony overlooking the Med!

As it is only a week Basketz I'd listen to the film when you get back. I am moving to Paris in August so making long term plans. I used to listen on R4 Long Wave but had to remember to tune in an hour later and the film was often displaced by the ball by ball cricket commentary! At least this time I will have the iPad and most importantly all my fellow addicts on here to keep my company Thanks

Hi, another lurker here. I feel a fraud posting as I tend to dip in and out of The Archers, depending on story lines like Ed/Will/Emma and of course this latest one. As a child I found it annoying as we were always Ssshhed when it was on so I think it was my teenage rebellion to refuse to listen (so rock n roll). So I am quite vague about how the different characters are related to each other but they are very familiar to me. Dh came to it in adulthood but tends to listen to the podcast on his commute. I am determined to try not to miss it as frequently so I will have more of a clue as I really enjoy it when I understand. These threads have definitely added to my enjoyment Flowers

Can't believe I've been on mumsnet a year and have only just found these threads. Long time on-and-off Archers occasional addict here. Currently in full-on obsessional mode. I've been dying to find others like me as DP tunes out every time he hears the music. Looks like I've finally found a home!

I'm loving the Tom storyline. Felt almost tearful at the end of today's omnibus. Poor Pat.
