It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

Have to second what R4 said above - we struck gold with the thread title!

nauticant · 25/05/2014 19:06

No more than ewesual

Hahahaha.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/05/2014 19:12
Grin
GypsyFloss · 25/05/2014 19:27

That made me smile too...and think of ewe lot too Grin

BasketzatDawn · 25/05/2014 21:32

It's pretty clear Peggoi and the SausageKing aren't going to meet again. I think, on a totally pragmatic level, Tony is right about selling the pigs. Why should Tom dictate terms then bugger off abroad for an indeterminate time and leave his old parents to do the work?

And Helen never gets her hands dirty on the farm, does she? She's all for asking her parents for an hour's child care here and there, and Rob seems to be doing a lot of the taking Henry to and from nursery etc when he should be focused on running his mega-dairy. And what was all the subterfuge about Jess a few months back about? And no more business meetings in Sunny Essex?

I'm starting to find it all a bit tedious again, with occasional good bits. Maybe that's just me though.

Bluestocking · 25/05/2014 21:38

Yes, what has happened to all the Jess stuff? Is Rob now so busy manoeuvring himself into complete control of everything and everyone at Bridge Farm that he doesn't have time to continue to do whatever it was with her?
I thought Piggoi was just awful this evening with her geriatric wobbly voice histrionics about Tom. She doesn't care a scrap about any of her family, she just doesn't like the idea of any of them getting out from under her rheumy old Eye of Sauron. On the subject of Piggoi's eyes, does anyone else imagine her looking rather like Barbara Cartland, with masses of really blobby mascara and a meringue hairdo?

BasketzatDawn · 25/05/2014 21:51

YY, do you think she wears a lot of pink too? Grin Though I tend to think of Peg as a grey and blue kind of old girl.

R4 · 25/05/2014 21:51

Poor old Tony. There's Pat and Peggoi saying "keep on the pigs because they are the link with John / because they are the reason Tom will return". I'd say "well, if you are so keen on the idea, then you do it". They seem to have forgotten about Moany's dicky ticker.
Do you think we will be left with only the three witches (Peggoi, Pat and Hellin) - imagine how they would get on!Shock

nauticant · 25/05/2014 21:55

Is Rob now so busy manoeuvring himself into complete control of everything and everyone at Bridge Farm that he doesn't have time to continue to do whatever it was with her?

I like there to be internal logic in plotlines and I definitely like this.

Bluestocking · 25/05/2014 22:06

Basketz, I imagine Piggoi's wardrobe staples being camel/caramel/cream, mostly from places like Windsmoor. She is deathly afraid of any hint of the publican's wife showing through and so sticks to what she thinks are stylish classics.

LillianGish · 25/05/2014 22:50

How did Tom manage to sell two businesses so quickly without even being around? Is it really that easy - or has he sold them to Knob? Will Piggoi change her will now Tom is no longer the future of the business? What is the point in keeping the pigs without the ready meal business - or are they just a monument to John (and now Tom)? Why has no one put two and two together with regard to Knob's Canada connection? Also wondering with David waxing lyrical about the long and happy history of Brookfield if it might not lie in the path of the new bypass?

CarolineKnappShappey · 25/05/2014 23:21

David being happy... Sounds perilously close to Nigel and Lizzie saying how happy they are until his SATTC swan dive off the roof.

Hope the great new editor has resisted being so clumsy.

TeenyfTroon · 26/05/2014 13:07

I wonder if the SWs have heard about the man who was trampled to death by his cows.

I really hope so cos if I have to listen to Moany Toany's awful voice much longer I may have to download some sort of selective muting device, should there be such a thing.

The off button is not quite selective enough. Spose I could try turning the sound down and trying to judge when to risk turning it up again, but it's an awful lot of effort.

Any suggestions?

ppeatfruit · 26/05/2014 15:06

If Hell isn't aware about Rob and Tom's machiavellian machinations around the pigs she may get some idea of her lovely partners' shadiness when she finds out Grin

Selks · 26/05/2014 16:19

I think Moany Tony is a real contender for being trampled.

ppeatfruit · 26/05/2014 16:37

Agree Selks

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/05/2014 19:11

So it was Rob. Angry

GypsyFloss · 26/05/2014 19:33

Helen is so bloody oblivious to the Knob's sneaky underhandedness. As for telling Piggy about the "engagement". Arghhhhhhhhh. Good for Moany telling the old witch she is not wanted on Friday. I was impressed.

Fallon the party planner extraordinaire continues ...Bolloxfest awaits your tender mercies dear. And as for Alice, does not she not actually have a real job to do, ever.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/05/2014 20:02

It does rather look as if the SWs are setting Fallon and Alice up as the type of Event Organisers I remember from the '80s.. Eventually they'll do so well that Freddie Pargetter will happily sell them Lower Loxley - prior to his running off to become a professional body-builder in Kyoto.

... Lizzie and Roy will move to Salcombe and end their days bickering over the curtain fittings in their B&B.

But I hope Peggy spends tonight weeping bitter tears of shame into her rum and cocoa...

Bluestocking · 26/05/2014 20:12

Zero, that's a very promising plotline - it would also SATTC as poor old Lily would be robbed of her inheritance by selfish Freddie. I haven't listened to today's TA yet but I liked the continuity announcer's ominous remark afterwards about a surprise for David and Ruth.

mswibble · 26/05/2014 20:14

20 quid for a lamp - at a car boot?!
She's have been laughed off her pitch round here and offered 50p as a final offer!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/05/2014 20:20

Lily won't be inheriting LL anyway... It was left to Freddie in Nigel's Will; Lily will inherit pure dosh.

Yeah - the Archers site has been trailing the (existence of a) "surprise" for a while... I'm saying nothing for fear of spoilering.

LillianGish · 26/05/2014 20:46

That road is going through Brookfield I'll wager.

GypsyFloss · 26/05/2014 21:24

Yep, I reckon the same about the road.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/05/2014 21:53

I have thought of a "good thing" stemming from the probable division of Brookfield - they could let Pip have the bit on the other side of the motorway; the bit that will no longer be in Ambridge. So we need never hear of her again.
