Can I PLEASE just have 13 minutes? 13 measly minutes to myself to listen to The Archers?

....or something about being "the wrong type of listener"?....

(Fo shizz.)

Hmm

I'm never going to be hip am I?

cheminotte · 23/03/2014 18:52

I've not read CCF either. Should I?
Its a month to go till the wedding so maybe something referencing that? Although a thread lasts about 3 weeks at the moment so unlikely it will be the same thread by then.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 23/03/2014 18:54

'I ha' scranletted lower field before I even ate soup today'

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 23/03/2014 19:07

He's doing it! Exactly as we said. separating her from all her friends and anyone who cares about her.

Halsall · 23/03/2014 19:18

And ringing to check up on her.....tick. Guilt-tripping about Henry needing lunch...tick.

Vile man.

GypsyFloss · 23/03/2014 19:21

She is truly oblivious.

SomewhereBeyondTheSea · 23/03/2014 19:25

I don't undetsrand why Tom and Kirsty are going for a new build. Is this going to turn into some kind of morality play about the dangers of the British obsession with home ownership?

toldmywrath · 23/03/2014 19:35

Zero don'tcherknow-it's hip to be a square Wink
I'll be back next Sunday after the omnibus film.

Cretaceous · 23/03/2014 19:57

Oh oh oh... I'm a lurker on this thread. But one of the questions at a quiz last night was "Who runs The Bull in The Archers" and I outed myself as an Archers fan(atic). There was silence. No-one else on the table had even heard of Kenton and Jolene. Shock

Rushed home, told DP, and he hadn't heard of them either! Does he never listen to the radio when it's on??? Are we basically incompatible??? I still remember being traumatised by the death of Zebedee Tring - I was very young at the time. Sigh!

I do wonder whether Kirsty will chuck Tom at the altar, aware he still holds a candle for Brenda. Leaving Tom in debt, wifeless, and with a new build, rather than his dream home on the farm. Guess that's just wishful thinking, as I like Kirsty.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 23/03/2014 20:27

Zebedee Tring? Wow - impressive credentials Cretaceous. No-one saw me looking him up on Wiki...

Well it has sort of happened before with Caroline and Robin, but K does seem to love the fool. Agree it would be a fabulous story.

Northernlurker · 23/03/2014 20:40

I had a horrid thought today. Other than Shula's ectopic and Christine miscarrying I think they haven't done death of a child or baby. (Not counting John)
So - are we looking at stillbirth as a storyline? I desperately hope not. It would be unbearable. I wondered though if they could be drawing on Gary Barlow and his wife - they were expecting a fourth with older dc and her in her forties and suffered a still birth. I really do hope not.

capercaillie · 23/03/2014 20:50

That's my fear for Ruth with this storyline. Really hope that isn't the case

stealthsquiggle · 23/03/2014 20:53

The line "I want this baby more than anything" was a bit of a giveaway, I fear Sad.

WillieWaggledagger · 23/03/2014 20:59

I too have a bad feeling about this

Northernlurker · 23/03/2014 21:19

Oh crumbs Sad Going to be a long 8 months.........

Redcliff · 23/03/2014 21:44

stilllearnin - perfectly used I thought. I managed to use "Fo shizz" in a sentabce but just to DP who looked at me as if I was mad and said, very slowly, "I do not know what you are talking about" - the shame.

I hope there is no still birth story - I don't think I could take that.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 23/03/2014 22:04

Zero don'tcherknow-it's hip to be a square I thought it was hip to be an intuitive pentagon? Confused

Am worried for Ruth too. Also, did anyone else think Lily suspects that it's Peep who's pg? Awkward.

cheminotte · 23/03/2014 22:44

Yes Lily definitely overhead a couple if conversations and was suspicious.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/03/2014 23:00

For sure Lily will spread a rumour that pip is upduffed. Ruth won't want to set the record straight till second trimester.

I want Leonie and James to come for an Easter visitation so we can have the PFB 'elderly primagravida' (urghhh... I'm so glad no medic dared call me that to my face) couple versus the solid been there-done-that-doing-it-again without any more drama R&D.

linney · 23/03/2014 23:01

And Lily is such a madam!

stilllearnin · 23/03/2014 23:07

Why redcliffe, thank you! Good spot beau coup - that'll be all round the village and then Ruth will be forced to announce her pregnancy - starting with Susan Carter obv. I hope all our speculating about Ruth is wrong- I was bad enough worrying about Helen's baby. I have since childhood had a crush on Ruth's accent - i'll be in pieces!

Not sure what to make of tonight's ep and Ian. He has at least kept in with Helen so can still save her.

stilllearnin · 23/03/2014 23:12

Oh a cross post with Errol. You made me laugh pages back telling an omnibus listener not to read the thread until they've heard the film! My family find me looking at my iPod chuckling - they've stopped asking what at!!

Redcliff · 23/03/2014 23:23

I think Ian knows that he is on to a loser if he tries to tell Helen what he really thinks of Rob. Why is she forcing the whole thing ? She must have her doubts surly and lying to Rob about where she was is madness although I could see why she would.

Redcliff · 23/03/2014 23:24

Ps - no worries stiller - I'm clearly down with the kids.

stilllearnin · 23/03/2014 23:29

I've noticed that about you redcliffe! I think it was a bit surprising how Helen wanted to check out Rob's story with Ian- like she has some lurking suspicion. Oh god! I will start feeling sorry for her soon- I can feel it coming on!
