Can I PLEASE just have 13 minutes? 13 measly minutes to myself to listen to The Archers?

Come and enjoy awkward dinner parties galore!

I love my Sodastream. Heston says you can make ordinary Chardonnay taste just like champagne in it. Haven't tried that yet as I keep drinking the experimental Chardonnay before I try it out. I had DD at 43. Looking after a baby at that age was a piece of piss but a 5 year old at 48!? Not so easy. I back the m/c because of lambing idea, we will see. I have got back into TA seriously after listening on and off since I was a child, I 's my only soap and these MN threads make it all the better. I think the wedding is heading for disaster or total rethink and Tony's lazy cow needs looking at fast

ComposHat · 18/03/2014 23:57

Chris is an objectionable little twat. The longer he is off the air, the better as far as I am concerned.

Nennypops · 18/03/2014 23:58

I do hope this kitchen thing isn't going to be one of those supposedly jolly story lines where Brine carries on being helpless and eventually gives in for the sake of his stomach. When Jennydahling was wittering on about how she needs a kitchen with a sparkling water tap I was shouting "WT actual F" at the radio. What needs to happen is that Brine imports some nubile 18 year old to cook for him and his shooting friends so that Jenny is forced to ditch at least the more stupid elements of her kitchen and come to a compromise.

AskBasil · 19/03/2014 00:35

Nennypops:

How dare you.

Grin

You'll be suggesting flat pack kitchens next.

GypsyFloss · 19/03/2014 07:26

Yes! Are the any fruit pickers loitering about? Surely one of them, the prettiest one natch, could come and ' do ' for Brian. That would shut JD up.

Songbird · 19/03/2014 07:36

I've never been more happy to be wrong after saying this kitchen storyline was where Darryl would return. Could still happen I guess.

OldBeanbagz · 19/03/2014 07:41

I know someone who has one of those fancy boiling water taps and her DP managed to burn his hand under it when he was pissed.

OddFodd · 19/03/2014 08:25

We used to have a boiling water tap at work. They're not recommended if there are children in the house. Mind you, I suppose Ruaridh isn't actually there much is he?

Surely a 60k kitchen is going to mean they've got no cooking facilities for months on end too? I can't see JD using a microwave in the utility room which is what I did when we had a new kitchen fitted :o

She's being really, really vile. I'm sure she used to have some redeeming features but I can't think of any right now. Oh yes - she's never had an issue with Kate marrying Lucas but that's always struck me as highly unlikely. She was bound to have had an issue with mixed race grandchildren given she's the sort of person who gets the Mail delivered

PseudoBadger · 19/03/2014 08:33

Did anyone else cringe at Alice's stubble rash as pointed out by Jenny?! TMI...
Due to a plague raging through my house I'm only half way through Monday's episode so will catch up ASAP...

WRF to Jill she's the matriach of TA and more right on than Peggoi (anti hunting, bee keeping practically supportive to her kids) etc. so of course like all of us she's not perfect (Darryl was an anomaly IMO and Kenton gets some negativity from her) but she's the best of who's left IYSWIM Artex

BitOutOfPractice · 19/03/2014 08:37

I've been away sunning myself for a few days but have just caught up.

I want to kill Jill. That's all I have to say.

OddFodd · 19/03/2014 08:39

Eugh yes Pseudo. I'd wiped it from my brain!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 19/03/2014 09:16

Oh yes the stubble rash remark... eugh.... (do we think that's going anywhere? Or just a hint that Chris is still around? Maybe Alice will be upduffed too. There could be a plethora of Ambabes - Ruth's, Helen's, Jess's, Peep's, Alice's and... I dunno... Jolene's??)

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2014 09:47

120k kitchen Grin

HumphreyCobbler · 19/03/2014 10:49

I also am surprised by the overt level of Jenny's snobbery recently. Before it has always been a subtext type thing, there but not vocalised. She IS liberal in other ways, she was not at all put out by having a gay son or black son in law.

Martorana · 19/03/2014 11:02

It's all part of the dumbing down, Humphrey...........

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2014 11:03

I'm surpised that Brine is being a mean shxx (when Jenny is emphasising the fact that it's actually for HER and how much he owes her etc...) perhaps his industrial dairy isn't doing well yet!! I hope so

I loved the flat pack suggestion Grin

PigletJohn · 19/03/2014 11:18

where did this stubble rash occur?

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2014 11:31

Psuedo We had that horrible fluey thing too, is it chesty? Thyme tea is amazing for it btw. Hope it goes soon Sad

Nennypops · 19/03/2014 11:36

If or when Brine imports the nubile cook, I so want her to mend the dodgy drawer and then sing the praises of the current kitchen in great detail in Jennydahling's hearing. I like the thought of JD grinding her teeth down to the gums whilst we hear someone with a sexy Scandinavian accent loudly proclaiming "But why would you evairr want to change such a pairrrfect keetchen, Meester Aldridge?"

LaundryFairy · 19/03/2014 11:38

Sister in law has boiling water tap, steam oven, aga, underfloor heating... beginning to wonder if Kingsley designed her kitchen!

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2014 11:45

I don't want to be nosey but how much did your SIL pay for it Laundry?

PigletJohn · 19/03/2014 11:47

if brine and jd make a habit of eating out (separately) that might be the beginning of the end.

I envisage Brine with a good stock of Ginsters pasties and Greggs doughnuts in his office.

LaundryFairy · 19/03/2014 11:50

No idea, I'm afraid - it was part of major building works being done to their (amazing) house. And I can't even be too jealous of their good fortune as they are very generous and have helped us out financially when we moved house. Ideal realatives, really. Smile
