Series 1 Episode 1 is now on R4 and on iPlayer.

John Finnemore is the writer of Cabin Pressure. It is very funny.

The Drill Hall can seat 200 and they will probably give a minimum of 40 tickets to production guests. On John Finnemore's blog a poster has just said that the BBC received 22,800 applications for tickets for the final recording of Cabin Pressure. Not holding my breath that my application will be one of the lucky 0.7%!

If anybody is lucky enough to get one, though, it's worth noting that another poster over there who got a ticket for a previous recording says you would have to be there hours and hours before the doors open to be sure of getting in. The BBC over-allocate to allow for no shows, given that the tickets are free - although one might think that with that rate of oversubscription for tickets there will be very few no shows!

FrankelInFoal · 11/02/2014 18:30

I think there could be some no shows as I think a lot of people made multiple entries before realising they would have to show valid ID on the door.

Good luck to everyone that applied!

The Radio Times has put a few noses out of joint by suggesting the 22800 are all Benedict Cumberbatch fans! Lots of sniffy comments in response saying that in fact it's an ensemble piece and this is particularly offensive to John Finnemore.

Also, the RT says the broadcast isn't going out till CHRISTMAS EVE!!! Sad This is a blow. I was expecting an Easter treat.

FrankelInFoal · 12/02/2014 11:24

John Finnemore said on Twitter he hadn't been given a broadcast date yet, so hopefully that just the usual lax RT journalism seeping through!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 14/02/2014 09:35

No tickets this time. Sad Well, at least they emailed, and the prospect of standing for five hours outside the Drill Hall in this weather was not enticing! [making the best of things emoticon - if Mumsnet doesn't have one of these they should have]

cornflakegirl · 14/02/2014 09:41

We love Souvenir Programme! Current favourites are The Emperor's New Clothes and the Penguin Keeper song. Was planning to get all the CP downloads from AudioGo until they rudely went bust.

FrankelInFoal · 14/02/2014 09:52

Mumsnet needs to organise a Webchat with John Finnemore. All the better if he can bring Benedict with him Wink

greenhill · 14/02/2014 10:08

YY frankel it would be an excellent combination. I'm still randomly laughing about JF's crocodile/ parrot being a "bit killy".

I listened to "Dad's Army" on iPlayer yesterday, it was very funny.

It would be brilliant!

I loved that sketch too - "often with the attendant limb" Grin

FrankelInFoal · 23/02/2014 21:04

The recording for the last Cabin Pressure was tonight, judging by Twitter we won't get to hear it until Christmas Sad

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 24/02/2014 16:33

Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 24/02/2014 16:34

.... oh, and also:

EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy

re those who got to attend. I dare not look at Twitter or anywhere else where there might be spoilers.

FrankelInFoal · 24/02/2014 16:38

I've not seen any spoilers so far, but lots of photos!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 24/02/2014 16:42

Perhaps I can risk it then - especially if I keep my hand half over my eyes....

Thanks for the tip off!

FrankelInFoal · 25/02/2014 10:08

Spoiler free review of the last Cabin Pressure from Cumberbatchweb.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/02/2014 10:17

Thanks, Frankel. I spent a happy hour or two yesterday looking at Twitter and so forth. I was greatly taken by these tweets from John Finnemore on Saturday:

One last review of the script for tomorrow... Oh God, I forgot to put Martin in!

I KNEW there was something. Oh well, perhaps no-one'll notice.

I suppose I COULD cut some of the fifteen minutes of Carolyn sleeping... but no, that's all gold.

Final comments, and cast picture from John Finnemore's blog.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 09/03/2014 14:29

Thanks for that, Frankel, and here's a link to Radio 3's Private Passions which today featured John Finnemore! For those who've never heard PP, it's a kind of upmarket Desert Island Discs.

Oh God. Celebrity appearance alert. Any guesses who it's going to be?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 10/03/2014 19:15

Wrong thread!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 10/03/2014 19:56

Also, thanks, Willie, I enjoyed that.

hackmum · 21/03/2014 19:10

Did anyone here John Finnemore being interviewed about CP on Feedback today? Really enjoyed it. So sad to hear that it's ending.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 21/03/2014 20:05

Thank you so much! That was lovely but once again they say the final CP episode will be broadcast at Christmas. Bastards! I so wanted to hear it at Easter.
