Helen and Jess: I predict either 'yoghurts at dawn' type duel for the hand of Rob.......or they form a lesbian relationship, ditch Rob and move in together.

Panzee · 10/12/2013 17:22

If Helen and Jess get together it will make all this worthwhile!

BasketzatDawn · 10/12/2013 18:18

Yes, Yes, both Helen and Jess are preggers with Rob's babes, they set up home together with both babies and Henry. Ambridge's first lesbian household.

I think Jess IS pregnant - there was a hint in the most recent epi - when somebody (was it Jennifer?) congratulated her, on her new job (as the only social worker in Borsetshire, who will run herself ragged dealing with all the 'Problem People', just like Usha is the only lawyer, Amy the only midwife .... at least there are several farmers and turkey pluckers)), but Jess did a double take as if a secret had been rumbled.

BasketzatDawn · 10/12/2013 18:19

At least they won't be the only gays in the village though .....Grin

TallGiraffe · 10/12/2013 18:34

Did anyone else think Jess' moment of doubt when Jill said Confratulations was because she's pregnant and not told anyone yet? I finished my PhD about the time I got pregnant and used to freak whenever anyone said Confratulations!

TallGiraffe · 10/12/2013 18:35

X-post! Really should not write half a post and then finish it off later!

GypsyFloss · 10/12/2013 18:50

Yes, I heard that slight pause too. Oh I do hope so Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 10/12/2013 18:55

I thought that too. Which probably means it won't be true

BasketzatDawn · 10/12/2013 19:11

Goodness, Shula is such a busybody. No hospital wld give so much personal info about a patient she isn't related, would they?

choccyp1g · 10/12/2013 21:59

I think your average hospital nowadays will tell anyone anything if there is any chance you'll take the patient away and unblock the bed.

WhatSheSaid · 10/12/2013 22:25

Just marking place.

Surely Alan would have visited Darrell as well?

Shula is still sounding as if Darrell is doing all this just to annoy her Hmm

Gigondas · 10/12/2013 23:20

Shula is a sanctimonious cow - Darrell manages to piss me off which I am sure isn't effect wanted .

Neil is lovely and sensible tho Smile.

Also enjoyed Caroline telling Linda off for correcting her recipe books.

In absence of Kate or Helen, it's good to see another royal pita in shape of Leonie.

Selks · 10/12/2013 23:37

Shula is pissing me off to be frank. Her ridiculous over-involvement with Darrell is much more about meeting her own emotional needs as a rescuer. It's all about her really, not him.

fluffiphlox · 11/12/2013 09:41

I want Darrell to get hold of a shot gun, go on a murderous rampage, taking out the following:
Shula
Susan
Helen
Alistair
Daniel
The new Clarrie
Emma
Will
Ed
Then turn the gun on himself.

\link{http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2013/dec/10/radio-review-month-in-ambridge\Nancy Banks-Smith is enjoying a bit of actual drama!}

ErrolTheDragon · 11/12/2013 14:33

I was just catching up with Saturday's Times and there was a column about the General's complaint re Ed shooting Baz - his take seemed very similar to mine, ie Ed was entirely wrong to shoot a dog which wasn't worrying sheep, and that anyone other than family would be having it dealt with officially.

Though there was something about Brian supporting Will's right to be there with his dog in some report, I didn't quite get what that was about.

BasketzatDawn · 11/12/2013 15:53

One advantage of not having a life these days is that I was able to listen again to the 2pm broadcast of last night's epi. AND I paid attention AND I laughed! Like this Grin. I hope the SWs will make something of Leonie's arrival, with Lindy and Robert bickering, L bending over backwards to be a good step mum, but finding it all a bit stressful, and at least if push comes to shove her seasonal shopping is sorted. She can get Leonie a grip. I loved Linda's point about having so many more important things to deal with, like the panto and fixing the recipe books.

It made up for the woeful stuff on Darrell. Though I agree Neil was great. and he had some good lines. I must say Darrell sounds quite chipper, albeit in a severely depressed kind of way, for somebody for whom there remains some doubt over whether his liver is irretrievably damaged. I suspect he'd be more vague and not quite with it if, a few days post-overdose,there really was some risk of long-term damage. Possibly a precursor to the Ambridge Miracle Recovery from Serious Illness/Accident Fairy calling by again. I hope Shula didn't shag the doctor again.

GypsyFloss · 11/12/2013 19:07

I'm liking this episode so far. Definitely an engagement I reckon ...

choccyp1g · 11/12/2013 21:04

Errol I think that bit of land actually belongs to the Estate, rather than Grange Farm.
Basketz If Baz had been in a coma, he'd be right as rain by now. In fact he may yet emerge from the grave, barking happily, and wagging his tail, and shitting all over the pastures just like all the other mortally wounded characters.

cheminotte · 11/12/2013 21:15

Thanks for the link Smile I do enjoy Nancy's articles.

Gigondas · 12/12/2013 08:22

Peggy waxing lyrical about how she wished she had longer married to jack ( bit about him losing his memory was well done - very poignant).

rob came across as complete twat with Jess- I cannot believe that it won't come out about Helen.

Gigondas · 12/12/2013 08:23

Posted too soon-meant that I think Peggy's memories are paving way for jack going over Xmas as someone suggested down the threAd.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/12/2013 08:25

I think that bit of land actually belongs to the Estate, rather than Grange Farm.
Yes, Will said that at the outset. Poor Baz was just being trained to do his job. Just wasn't sure what Brian's involvement was at that point - sort of hoping that someone does throw a large book at Ed.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/12/2013 08:29

Good one last night. Even the bits with Jess were bearable because of the amount of squirm induced in Helen and Rob. Grin Helen won't be able to include a dodgy cheese because most of the guests will be her own family and friends.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/12/2013 10:30

Rob was particularly knobbish last night wasn't he?

I loved the bit with Peggy and Tom. "Just make sure it sparkles!"
