"Mrs Shen is..... slaving over a hot column" :o

OP posts:
Somethingyesterday · 18/09/2013 12:03

Eeeuurgh!

Anyway, let's hope the two of them will do a moonlight flit and leave GG in peace.

choccyp1g · 18/09/2013 12:22

I think the columnist missed the point by a mile. It was obvious that "Mrs Shen" wasn't a proper travel journalist. Either she was pulling the wool over Ray's eyes, or as it turned out he was pulling the clothes off her body.

choccyp1g · 18/09/2013 12:24

..and surely it was lynda who dropped the hint to his wife.

kiriwawa · 18/09/2013 14:16

Can they not prosecute Ray for fraud? Or theft by deception or something? I'd call the police if I were Linda. Her bill must be pushing a grand, surely?

ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2013 14:23

Oh, just caught up with the lunchtime repeat. Yes, enjoyed Brine 'takes one to know one' affair-spotting.

I'm sure Lynda will ensure Ray coughs up, including the compensation for the ousted Royal Garden Suite guests. And she won't even be nasty about it.

ppeatfruit · 18/09/2013 17:48

I loved the Matt 'holier than thou' attitude that's a bit bleedin' rich as was the comment that 'things got a bit hot even for him in Russia" notice that no one knows how much moula he 's actually lost.

Somethingyesterday · 18/09/2013 18:58

I was a bit surprised to hear Matt and Brian lunching together. They haven't really been friends since Matt was drummed out of Borchester Land. (I seem to remember that Amside are involved in some B-Land project - but Brian would normally talk to Lilian.) Perhaps the SWs see Matt being welcomed back into the Plutocrats' Club soon? It's certainly been dull without him.

Somethingyesterday · 18/09/2013 19:06

Oh HURRAY!

(I am too good!)

OliviaMMumsnet · 18/09/2013 22:32

how do we know Ray can afford to pay for the RGS though?!?!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/09/2013 22:34

hmph, he's done a bunk doubtless without paying. Well, hopefully he'll forfeit his salary.

Hope Lynda doesn't make the Mexican night worse than it would have been anyway...

curlew · 18/09/2013 22:41

Lynda is going to be even worse than Ray. She's going to revert to the person she was had before she had one of those bizarre as bridge personality transplants.

Oh, and what's happened to Beth?

CuttedUpPear · 19/09/2013 08:46

Is anyone else finding the constant references to Cake in the Tom and Kirsty scenes a bit uncomfortable? There seems to be some allusion to Kirsty have a Cake addiction, or some kind of body image issue, which Tom is all knowing about.

SWs, it's not unusual for people to enjoy Cake you know, even on a twice weekly basis! It makes Tom seem like a feeder!

curlew · 19/09/2013 08:57

I thought that about the cake. Unless they are taking notice of all the complaints about the sex noises, and "cake" is a euphemism?

Somethingyesterday · 19/09/2013 09:08

Mmm..... I wouldn't say I found it uncomfortable - but it is decidedly odd.

I wondered at their last encounter if they were leading into an "issue" - which would be weird after Helen's anorexia.

My other thought was that they are desperately trying to give this (utterly, utterly ridiculous and unbelievable) relationship some sort of theme. Because even the SWs would have to admit it is worthless and an insult to loyal listeners.

Unusually I have no predictions for this story. What is uncomfortable is how stupidly sly and manipulative Kirstie is being made to seem. She obviously dumped Damien in pursuit of Tom and is now trying to seduce him by making him feel sorry for her. ShockHmm And she's supposed to be an intelligent and independent woman.

The one interesting Kirsty thing is that she seems to be getting too old and tired to work two jobs. I wonder where they're going with this.

Somethingyesterday · 19/09/2013 09:10

x2?! Why? Sorry!

ErrolTheDragon · 19/09/2013 09:31

I dunno. I rather like the ideas of couples bonding over cake. I'll only start worrying if Tom starts force-feeding her pork meals and sausages.

ppeatfruit · 19/09/2013 09:48

True Errol and there's some odd relationships about I don't think Tom and Kirstie's is any odder than many.

Well what is it they say about power? Grin Linda LOVES a bit of power now she's got it all!!! Watch out GG Grin Luckily it's only till Friday Grin.

PigletJohn · 19/09/2013 09:48

Seduction by cake?

PseudoBadger · 19/09/2013 09:54

Tom clearly has 2 ways to cheer up women - cake and sex. He's already done all the sex with Kirsty and isn't quite up to it again. Therefore, for now, it must be cake :o

OP posts:
lottiegarbanzo · 19/09/2013 10:00

...before he tries to slip her some sausage, fnarr fnarr! Oh dear but really, dating and talk of sausages don't mix well. Maybe that's why they're adopting the cake diversion.

Somethingyesterday · 19/09/2013 10:00

What has happened to my advocacy skills? Why can I not persuade you that Tom and Kirstie is simply wrong?

Re GG - I'm pretty sure that Caroline will return so chilled and becalmed that she'll be quite happy for Lynda to carry on as acting manager for the foreseeable. Which would be great fun.

Somethingyesterday · 19/09/2013 10:01

What??!! Help!

OldBeanbagz · 19/09/2013 10:06

Why are Tom and Kirstie so wrong?

Kirstie likes cake and sausages, Tom can give her both Wink

Wasn't the cake storyline yesterday just getting in the fact that Damien was vegan?

ppeatfruit · 19/09/2013 10:24

And she DOES care about Tom and the countryside not like Bren who just wants to shag the nearest millionaire Rusky!
