R4 presenters dropping from 12 to 10...

Heard news much earlier in the day, but laughed when they had people reading out the start of The Six O'Clock News with the names Harriet Cass or Charlotte Green (and then the news started and it was neither).

After 30 years they deserve their opportunity to do other things, but will be hugely missed. There was a piece online *> (Daily Telegraph)

Forgot to mention that some time ago one of the country rambles had a number of the continuity presenters walking and talking. Was a great show and gave an insight into them as people, not just excellent presenters.

Wonder when that one will get repeated ?

i sincerely hope they weren't actually given the boot due to age - BBC does seem to have lost two older female presenters - and these are in short supply!

Charlotte Green has a voice you could bathe in. will miss her a lot.
Harriet Cass also.

i know they said it was voluntary, but when they have chosen to loose two staff, it looks less that way...
