Come on The Archers, bit boring a the mo, and am not evening mentioning Home Farm and the slurry tank being eeked out for what it's worth. We need something fun and exciting! Get Tiger out of the office and up to no good! Kenton and Jolene snogging and groping! Pat kidnapping Rich! Linda organising an Easter village parade! Something please.

And am perfectly aware of self need for umpf in my own life that extends beyond school run, work and Housework. I would be the dullest character. In the Archers.

I disagree. Most of the charm of TA is that it feels like RL where, sometimes, nothing happens and if it does happen then it takes months or years to play out. I don't want a TV type soap with crashing trains, falling planes and other catastrophes which are done & dusted within one episode.
Bide your time - something will be along in a bit. Let's hope it's not a 'comedy' Grundy moment.

R4 I SOOO agree I HATE all those sensationalist copycat soaps on T.V. it seems as long as there's a serial killer (who BTW starts off being plausible and 'normal' and morphs ridiculously into a monster) the S.W.s and prodcers, etc. think no one is interested. I have asked DD and DH the reason for this (they are in the business) and they reckon that it's the YOOf audience that is wanted and cowtowed to.

Interestingly no notice is taken of the success of shows like Downton Abbey which demonstrates that there is a HUGE audience for slower more thoughtful stuff on telly and at least ATM the radio is not chasing the yoof completely.

Also caro the fuss that is being made about the factory dairy that Brian and money grasping Debbie (she's a chip off the old block ain't she?) want to open is interesting and controversial enough IMO. DOWN WITH FACTORY FARMING!!!!

Tony sounds on his last legs and Tom is too busy with his business plans to help out fully, so can see problems ahead ... more misery at Bridge Farm.

Lilimaid Brian is overreaching himself IMO how old is he meant to be? i can see a heart attack or worse lining up for him right in the middle of the factory dairy !!

I am only halfway thru Listen Again. but think that our resident MNer writer must be away. Otherwise there would be a complaint about the Broadband issue and that no one in the Felpersham triangle can get on to MN! Wink

I don't understand how not one of the characters seems to have a smartphone with mobile internet that they can use when the broadband is down. Even my parents in rural Wales can manage that much (ok, might have to lean out of the bathroom window to get reception, but that's another story).
