Clive Horrobin - where is this going?

Ok, I haven't heard Sunday's episode yet, but from Friday's it sounds as though they're trying to set up some kind of paedophile storyline? In Ambridge?!

The whole uncharacteristic interest in his young relatives, knowledge of Freddy and Lily, the photo....

I'm hoping that he's going to arm himself to the teeth with Will's guns and shoot everyone's internal monologue Grin.

Serioulsy - wtf is it with that on AE, they didn't do it last series did they?

I really hope they're not going to go down the paedophile route with Clive, yes he's a nasty piece of work but that wouldn't fit with his character would it? A better storyline might be Emma losing the plot and succumbing to paedo-noia ('I'll have to bath Kiera now' - huh?) and the consequences from that...

Clive is a stock evil character. He will probably kidnap George and Keira and there will be a stake out in Ambridge - following the pattern of his previous appearances in the Archers. He must have obtained all this information via the silent Ivy, his mum and his pub conversation with Matt.

Now, this would be stretching even Archers credulity to its limits, but I have been wondering if The Sainted Elona's husband 'Darryl', who is also currently in a bail hostel, will turn out to be Clive using a pseudonym and having had a double life for years - all to be revealed when he joins The Sainted Elona and daughters at Lilian's house on The Green?

Otherwise, they are at least criminal colleagues and will conspire to commit some heinous act, such as kidnapping Freddie, perhaps while he is out hunting (thereby proving that Jill is correct in thinking that hunting is A Bad Thing)? Which will leave 'plucky widow' Lizzzzzzie to be pluckily distraught once again, but this time 'comforted' by all-round-good-egg Roy (am convinced something has been brewing there for months!).

And can someone tell me what terrible thing Nic did in a previous life to be saddled with the ghastly Will and seem HAPPY about it? I know she once smacked -Damian- George and I know karma can be a bitch, but still, she must at least be crying on the inside, no?

Nic is surely going to announce that she's pregnant soon?

Perhaps Clive will end up staying with his mate from prison in Lillian's cottage....

So did Clive let Ed's cows out of their field?

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/11/2011 18:57

Oh I love Nic purely because her presence annoys Emmur so much. Can not wait for the wedding and Emmur's snide comments/jealousy - in fact am fully expecting her to try and stop it by telling Will she wants him back - just for her own amusement.

I think Clive stole Ivy's rings and is after money but please god no paedophile stuff.

GrendelsMum · 06/11/2011 19:31

I think that they're going to kill Clarrie off before too long, and Nic will take over her role as producer of ferret casserole for the Grundy menfolk.

I agree with MrsCampbellBlack that she has to be adored because she pissed Emmur off so much. Just fabulouso. I loved the episode last Christmas where Nic helped pluck turkeys and Emmur stood on the sidelines moaning about how she was pregnant and shouldn't do any hard work, with even Ed complementing Nic on her hard work.
