Talk to me about DAB

I know they want us all to migrate from FM to DAB but I don't use FM, I use LW. Will LW carry on after the switchover? Do they make DAB+LW radios?

Just checked mine and its only fm and DAB mode.

Rest assured, LW included in DAB as "secondary services". We got DAB for better AM, actually.

The stations that broadcast on LW will either shut down or will move to digital so you can receive them on a DAB radio.

So will LW transmissions stop? I thought that they were the failsafe way that nuclear submarines could check that all was well with the world and that Blighty hadn't been invaded by marauders.

I suspect nuclear submarines have more high tech means of checking if the UK has been invaded

LW transmissions will stop and the frequencies will eventually be used for other purposes.
