Woman's Hour/Cottonopolis episode 5

Any suggestions as to what happened to the final episode of last week's Woman's Hour Drama? The whole serial was trailed with the customary wearisome frequency, including the fact that the week-long drama was set to culminate in a special afternoon play today, Monday.

At the top of Woman's Hour on Friday, the fifth installment was trailed as normal. I missed the link at 10.45 and when I turned on the radio a David Attenborough package was playing. Something else was played in place of the usual repeat at 7.45pm and today's play was different again.

No mention anywhere that I can see. The WH website is silent on the subject. It's like Kafka.

And for once I was actually following the story.....

Radio 4 yesterday postponed a drama about the disappearance of a woman, told through the eyes of a taxi driver, following the discovery of Miss O?Callaghan?s body.

It withdrew the penultimate episode of the Cottonopolis series and also the conclusion on Monday out of sensitivity following the developments in the police hunt this week.

A BBC spokesman said: ?In light of recent events we have postponed the broadcast of today?s episode of the drama Cottonopolis. The Monday Afternoon Play which would have been the conclusion will also be postponed and we plan to broadcast both at a later date.?

Thank you for this! I too was very frustrated by the disappearance of the final parts but now I feel rather stupid for not putting two and two together and working out why they'd pulled it.
