What does Lewis actually do?

Does he have a job at Lower Loxley? Or just hang around? I must have missed a crucial (!) episode...

I believe that he runs an art gallery in some converted out-building at LL, although he is retired (was an architect).

He married Nigel's mother not long before she died and he runs the gallery.

I thought he was magnificent last night dealing with Lizzie's outburst!
