Vanessa Feltz on Radio 2. What's the verdict?

I've only heard a bit of her new show but I'm finding her a bit sickly sweet. I know people had their issues with Sarah Kennedy but I quite liked her. Maybe I need to give VF a chance...

I'm not ready for Radio 4 first thing in the morning. Need something a bit more light hearted at this time of day Smile

Very similar to SK. There was even mention of cats this morning. Not to my taste but bearable while I wait for Chris Evans.

Sorry, I just cannot bear her. Hated her on London Radio, even worse to see her. I go and listen to ResonanceFM or XFM until Mr Evans.

She does her London show from 9am. Nothing sickly sweet from her in that show most days.

Was a little surprised to hear her, and not that keen on either her or SK, but then again, I know I would be throwing something at the radio if I ever had oh-so-cheery Chris Evans at any time of day (showing my age). Does CE have some "posse" of 'yes' people like the breakfast fool on R1 ?

While on the subject of R2, was not that keen when I managed to find Chris Tarrant on the other afternoon... very much the 'big ego' when he could not be bothered to name the presenter on after 5. He (ChrisT) said something like "followed by, uh, someone else" (OK, maybe he genuinely forgot, but it sounded dismissive to me).

Forgot to mention, I'm usually awake well before they get up, so it's not 'early morning' radio for me, it's more like time for elevenses, or else I am sleeping through to 10:00 or into the afternoon and hear nothing 'tween 05:00 and 10:00 :)

She's sitting in for Jeremy Vine now. It's positively painful to listen to her. Dreadful.

She's brilliant on BBC Radio London. I just get the feeling that she's trying too hard at Radio 2 . I f she relaxes a bit she'll get better

I've caught her a few times sitting in for JV. I quite like, tbh. At least she's intelligent. Don't hear her in teh morning but anyone is better that SK

I listened to her on Jeremy Vine this week. I love her show on LondonLive but thought she was putting on a 'posh' voice for Radio 2 listeners. I agree she will be fine once she relaxes and stop trying so hard.

I really love listening to her on bbc radio london, she makes me laugh and I agree with most of waht she has to say. Also Robert Elms who follows Vanessa Felzt is great - he is so passionate about London. But the early morning show with Paul Ross and Gaby Roslin is not so good. Paul Ross is good enough, but his show was so much better with Jo Goode - Gaby Roslin is too sugary sweet and they have no chemistry.

i miss vanessa on radio london in the mornings, not really keen on um can't remember her name!

i also wish they'd stop messing around with their schedules, really likes listening to robert elms listen again on sunday evenings as i usually miss his show during the week, but it's gone now.

I really like Vanessa - she's been around a long time and knows her stuff - give her a chance. ( couldn't stand Sarah Kennedy )

Yeah, I also like Vanessa. She is extremely intelligent and 'wordy'. I used to discover a new word every time I listened to her show.

it sounds like Sarah K. opened her mouth before engaging her brain IMO she wasn't coping well with the early mornings, probably time for her to go. I listened to Van. F. but she seems too sickly sweet.
