amusing ending of More or Less...

Just had to laugh at the Shipping Forecast going onto the end of the Friday/Sunday "More or Less" show.

Incidentally they went into figures over whether Mohamed (in all spellings) was really the most popular boys name in the UK (apparently Oliver with variations is more popular, and a few years ago the 5 most popular each had higher numbers, but in recent times, more variations including 'Brooklyn' has lowered the popularity of individual names). That bit was in the last 10 minutes of show, if you want to hear it.

I love More or Less! Particularly enjoyed the discussion on why Nigel's scream lasted so long when he fell off the roof Grin.

Oh yes - they reckoned it meant Lower Loxley would have been about 20 storeys high didn't they?

It was lovely to hear Graham Nigel again.

I noticed long ago that wickets fall during the Shipping Forecast. I will grant that it is unusual to end the innings during a SF but losing a wicket is so common that it is a standing joke in our household

I have to admit to not being either a cricket or SF fan, though I do use the time (if I am still up in the morning) to put the kettle on and come back from the kitchen after it has boiled with a steaming cuppa !!

Talking about the 05:23 SF, not the one around this time in the morning IYSWIM (but still good time for a cuppa and chocolate biscuit or three...

Very funny ending to this week's episode too!

Thanks for the reminder - I heard the abridged broadcast on Friday lunchtime after they increased the World at One by 15 minutes but not the Sunday broadcast.
