Does Ambridge have a duck pond she oculd be drowned in? What a cow with her rumours. DROWN her in the yoghurt!

What rumours? I can't listen tonight. Is she with that Vicki/Vicky/Vikki?

Northernlurker · 10/01/2011 19:19

Yup - talking about Henry Ian Archer and deciding that Ian is baby's father and Helen made up the sperm donor stuff. 'After all Ian is always going up to that flat' UGH UGH UGH!

No surprise there tbh - she wouln't take them to Phil's funeral either. I'm sure Alan will save the day on that one. Not taking to children to so important a funeral as this would be a huge, huge mistake.

Was good to hear Lizzie speak again the other day. Thought shed gone on hols.

I personally didn't think Ian did a huge amount during Helen's pregnancy - or did miss it? I think she just fancies him.

Are we sure that Ian isn't the father. Helens conception came only weeks after the news was full of the national sperm shortage. Adam wouldn't approve

I want vickeeee to have a surprise baby- have we ever found out how old she is meant to be. Evil Brenda would have a hissy fit.

catinthehat2 · 10/01/2011 19:42

I've said this before.
Forget about Susan, just stop Shula.
She should have climbed that roof.
Boy, I really don't like her.

Pancakeflipper · 10/01/2011 19:42

Sim - you have been tittle-tattling with Susan Carter haven't you?

Northernlurker · 10/01/2011 19:44

Shula is apalling. I laughed like a drain when Jim said he could now see what Alistair saw in her - the rest of us are still waiting! Grin

hehehehe

not just me then

what's the opposite of a fanclub?

lalalonglegs · 10/01/2011 20:55

Did anyone hear Sandi Toksvig describe the Archers as "a memorable theme tune followed by 14 minutes of cow noises and sighing" Grin?

R4 · 11/01/2011 09:13

I used to like Shula until they gave her a personality transplant (about the time of the Richard affair).

Isn't Susan saying what we are all thinking? I still don't understand that flat-decorating thing: if it was you, wouldn't you have gone with your partner (especially if said partner was Helen's cousin!), not do the job on your own.

Chil1234 · 11/01/2011 12:50

Old women speculating in a village shop about a baby's parentage? I'll admit it's a stretch of the imagination......

LadyBiscuit · 11/01/2011 12:54

It's a stretch too far to think that Shula would be nice to Usha just because Nigel fell off a roof.

ppeatfruit · 11/01/2011 14:01

If my DH popped his clogs i would NOT expect my brother to do his emails!! Would you? Weird or what?

Northernlurker · 11/01/2011 18:01

No I would have rammed the keyboard down his throat for even thinking of it!

OP posts:
Northernlurker · 11/01/2011 18:02

Chil - they were middleaged, in the yoghurt shed (owned by the baby's granparents!) and the father of the baby is 'known' - a sperm donor. No need for the awful Susan to say anything. Shame Pat didn't hear and sack her.

OP posts:
LadyBiscuit · 11/01/2011 18:24

If I were self-employed I might like someone else answering the emails. I don't have a brother though :o

evenkeel · 12/01/2011 11:49

Sooooosan has always been utterly revolting. End of story. I can't bear her whining, insinuating, self-righteous tone, although she and Vickoi make quite an amusing pair - each as bad as the other imho.

And Shula, now - gah! She's so creepily smarmy whenever she talks to the Right-On Rev.....practically licking the ground he walks on. I always thought that at least part of the reason she's so vile to Usha (apart from their past, ahem, romantic rivalry) is that she's livid with jealousy that Usha nabbed him. She behaved disgracefully when they got married over the whole CofE/Hindu thing.

I was rather taken aback by the violence of Jill's determination that the twins should go to the funeral, too. Bit scary, actually Hmm

Chil1234 · 12/01/2011 14:36

You need Susan and Vicki gossiping. Precious few other people in Ambridge seem to speculate and, in a community that small, other people would be the sole topic of conversation IRL

I'm glad Jill's finally grown a pair on the children at the funeral thing. Often wondered how someone that amenable could produce Lizzie and Shula. How old are the Pargeter twins supposed to be these days?

EdgarAleNPie · 12/01/2011 14:40

about to take 11+ chil1234

no. keep Susan.

she's the best jailbird in Ambridge.

AnyoneforTurps · 12/01/2011 21:22

Susan is the most annoying character in The Archers.

Which is saying something. Smile

Panzee · 13/01/2011 20:16

My mum asked me if Ian was the father. She had missed the stuff about the sperm donor. So I was quite chuffed to hear them speculating too!
