I've been listening to so much on IPlayer. Man in Black, MR James ghost stories and now Wizard of Earthsea. I am in heaven Grin I love being told stories.

Ooh not MR James, it was Walter De la Mare's ghost stories. Bloody good.

Charles Paris mysteries with Bill Nighy - very good too here.

I love R7 - tis fab. I get the round-up email once a week which lets me know what's coming on, and its probably the one email of that nature I always read. The kids stuff is fab too - Pippi Longstocking is on this week.

It's great. I wish they did more podcasts though, as my phone won't work with iplayer Angry

GrendelsMum · 11/01/2011 12:32

I'm loving The Prisoner of Zenda at the moment.

Please keep recommending things!

It's a lifesaver on Sunday mornings when R4 goes all god-ridden and R2 is hijacked by that damp sponge Aled Jones

HouseOfBamboo · 11/01/2011 13:27

I like the late evening and 4am comedy slots for listening to in bed (in an insomniac fashion).

Wish they wouldn't stick the shouty sci fi and murderous programmes on at midnight though, not very restful.

Agree about escaping from enforced religion and schmaltzy Sunday morning crap on R2 and R4.

Love it too, Wizard of Earthsea was amazing!

I'm afraid that I really hate the switch to Cbeebies radio early in the morning though.

jodevizes · 17/01/2011 19:51

I just wish it would have an FM slot as I really don't want to buy a digital radio. I listen to it all the time on my computer.

HouseOfBamboo · 17/01/2011 22:11

Yes the CBeebies transition is bloody evil isn't it. Almost as if it was designed as a special parental torture.

NetworkGuy · 18/01/2011 18:26

There was a lot of discussion over on the BBC messageboards around the time of the move to push it into the 0500-0800 slot, around the time that the one childrens' programme on Radio 4 was scrapped.

Many hated the choice of 0500, whether they were parents who had no easy means of recording the content, or insomniacs hating their enjoyment of drama/comedy being brought to an abrupt end so early in the morning, when they wanted another hour or two at the very least.

Kirsten O'Brien being all bright and perky at 5am - that's just wrong in so many ways. They should make her do the bloody programme live I say.
