She actually apologised for being a total cow! What's going on?

It won't last

sore boobs, sleepless nights, stiches hurting, she will be abck to the Hellin to know and hate love pretty soon.

lilibet · 06/01/2011 15:32

Eh??

'back to the Hellin we know '

sorry

orangina · 06/01/2011 15:37

I thought the total transformation to relative normality was a bit too much to expect us to just swallow.....!

mylifewithstrangers · 06/01/2011 15:40

Aaargh, I hate that they are trying to peddling that 'all pregnant women are hormonal and irrational' line

Hellin is just a cow surely?

carocaro · 06/01/2011 16:42

Yes it's far too good to be true, you can't change over night, as for Ian gushing I find that irritating also, imagine Helen when the Lovely Vicky puts her ore in.

But Jill, Alan and Elizabeth BRAVO at your performance, makes me want to go and seek a vicar for a hug.

evenkeel · 07/01/2011 11:37

What really enrages me is that Tony is now grovelling and begging for her forgiveness.

FFS!!!!

Hellin behaved like a demented fiend to him and he had every right to be dubious about her suddenly realising (totally out of the blue) that she 'needed' a Baybeeeee.

But no, apparently all this time we should have been sympathetic towards her lunatic controlling behaviour, and Tony must fall into line and be totally cowed by her, just as Pat, Tom, Brendurr, Kirsty and everyone else is.

Gaaaaaaaah! I don't think I can listen any more, it makes me too mad!

ppeatfruit · 10/01/2011 11:58

yes even and i hope hellin's babeee cries all the time and vomits all over his pretty nursery!! That'll learn her!!

StickyProblem · 20/02/2011 10:53

I think she's coming back...after her major panic over milk spots!!

Pancakeflipper · 21/02/2011 22:45

The scope for storylines for Hellin now is immense.. The writers must have notebooks full. The honeymoon period must be over soon? Back to being the contrary madam soon?

GrendelsMum · 23/02/2011 14:38

She was just uber-nice again when her dad took Henry to the pub when he was supposed to be babysitting. She can't keep this up much longer...

GrimmaTheNome · 23/02/2011 14:40

I know - when I heard Mike ordering chasers I thought 'Oh boy, is Tony ever in for it' ... but no. Actually rather less reaction from Helen on his unauthorized absconding to pub with baby than I'd expect from a real person.

Chil1234 · 23/02/2011 14:50

Something's definitely got to give. The uncharacteristically messy flat, allowing Tony to take Boy Wonder to the boozer, the endless stream of nosey visitors tramping through the shop. My money's on there being an altercation with Clarrie over the cheese production... with tragic consequences.

loler · 23/02/2011 19:26

I was going to start a new thread about Henry the wonder baby but thought it could fit in here.

Helen is stunned to niceness over 'Henry the wonder baby' - today at (not sure of exact age but guessing at 6 weeks as Helen can now drive again, although he was early so adjust age and all that but say) 6 weeks he was trying to pull his hat off, laughing and gurgling at everyone, being woken up by people talking near him.

I thinking that maybe the person who wrote this episode was not used to (say) 6 week old babies. Mine at 6 weeks were pretty much just lying there, managing a weak smile and then dropping off from the strain of it all or just staring into space. Definitely not trying to pull hats off and chuckling at people.

loler · 23/02/2011 19:27

oh- and wriggling so much I couldn't do the poppers up on their babygrow.

Chil1234 · 24/02/2011 14:36

I much preferred Archers babies when they were 'an announcement' followed by 'a passing reference'... and didn't make an actual appearance on the show until they were old enough to help with lambing.

cocoachannel · 25/02/2011 16:37

Chil1234- I'd rather they were reintroduced at 21, to give three more Pip free years.

Loler- I was trying to work out exactly how old Henry is when Jolene commented on his smile whilst they were out shopping, and agree the script writer in question hasn't come across many 6 week olds.

BendyBob · 27/02/2011 10:59

Lol yes that's all quite unlikely isn't it? Grin

I had to stop listening to the Archers it was all getting too dragged out. And now I have it on again and I'm giving my poor radio withering looks again.

How do they ALL manage to be so ghastly? I wish they'd all jumped off the roof behind Nigel. And why does everyone worry so incessantly about Hellin Hellin Hellin every two seconds.

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 27/02/2011 12:04

And another thing about boy wonder Henry, he was 6 weeks early so surely developmentally he would now be about new born stage, definately not gurgling, pulling off his hat and wriggling?
( note to self It Is NOT Real, it is NOT real,it is NOT real, aahh feeling better now Grin)

GrendelsMum · 28/02/2011 14:11

I think Helen's got some kind of freak version of PND - she's so awful usually that PND has manifested itself as being cheerful, upbeat and relaxed.

JoanofArgos · 28/02/2011 14:16

Is this going to be a sort of comedy storyline - like Susan being obsessively tidy when she got the new house - or is she actually going to be mental?

Am inclining to the first, because of the 'let me just show you the new washmitt' line.

Also, funny how when NIgel dies everyone rallies round and doesn't expect her to do anything other than mourn - but when Sid died, after about 2 weeks everyone stoppped going in The Bull because they were sick of the sight of her sad face! Gits!

jodevizes · 28/02/2011 15:43

Look out for Hellins Breast Milk Cheese on sale at the shop. Maybe BM ice cream as well.

SenoritaViva · 02/03/2011 20:19

Oh please let Hellin have her come uppance or I have sat through this slow burner for nothing. Or at least use this drivel to educate people about PND? Maybe they are saving that for poor Emma? Clarie is being a bit tough on her, and Emma's trying so hard. Thought her comments about the Scarlet woman were hilarious.

SenoritaViva · 02/03/2011 20:20

Helen's BM cheese and ice cream would be sour surely?!

ppeatfruit · 09/03/2011 14:21

yes so true my babees were amazingly forward for their ages Grin but pulling off their hats at 6 weeks? esp. a prem. no way!! LOL at hellins B.M. cheese!!
