Where do Harry and Jazzer live, and when did Harry move there?

I've missed a bit somehow -- where is that Harry and Jazzer are now living? Is it Honeysuckle Cottage? Did Harry take it on by himself? And if so, when?

I need to update the Ambridge model village in my back garden. (Have already got rid of the ickle tiny calves.)

As I remember Lillian and Matt (as Amside property, or whatever their business is called) bought and did up an old pub/big house, and converted it into flats. Harry is renting one and moved in a few weeks ago.

Some other sad avid Archers listener may have a fuller answer Smile.

Oh thanks Jeff -- that makes a lot of sense. As I recall it was an 'Edwardian gem'. I am impressed by the speed with which they finished the thing.

I hope it's got a big communal garden because Harry might want to be burying Jazzer in it soon. Grin

Hearsetease · 25/10/2010 11:38

Grin I think Harry would probably want to cremate Jazzer for public health reasons.

I don't know but may I just say:

I want WILL GRUNDY to die a quick and painless death and shut up whingeing! God, was there every a more self-pitying, annoying, self-justifying wanker in the history of everyday farming folk?

And yes I am aware that that is probably not an original sentiment Grin

Gore, I'm afraid that it's in the gamekeeper's job description.

Essential qualities: being an anti-sociable, miserable git. Desirable qualities: having a DP as maladjusted as you (Helen was a fine example. Nic, despite a promising start, seems to be letting the side down).

SpringHeeledJack · 25/10/2010 11:57

does anyone else find their sympathies lie with Jazzer rather than Harry/his other unwilling hosts? Mine do but dp hotly disputes this (he throws plates Grin)

...of course I might not have the Whole Picture because tis on at our lunchtime and tea time so I find that a lot of it is drowned out by screaming

GoreRenewed · 25/10/2010 12:00

No. Jazzer needs house-training!

BTW 'screaming' ? Do you force-feed your DC very hot food or are you and DP just very bad cooks? Grin

Hearsetease · 25/10/2010 12:03

I am actually pretty keen on Jazzer and consider him infinitely preferable to Tom and Brenda, but I don't think I'd want him as a lodger. I wouldn't throw a strop about him using my special mug though.

(Is the plate throwing is behind the screaming?)

screaming mostly down to five people all talking at once while thinking they personally are saying the Most Interesting Thing- with gradual increase in VOLUME

i speak like Jazzer (hsmile)

samcrow · 25/10/2010 12:26

Don't really like Jazzer but can't warm to Harry either, he's just a bit too good to be true. Just about to listen to omnibus so may change my mind is anything exciting happened last week.

Hearsetease · 25/10/2010 20:54

vintage4 I assume the similarity ends there, or are you the Casanova of Meadow Rise?

I think Jazzer is stuck in a stereotyped rut right now, but I like it when we get a glimpse of other sides to him -- his song at the talent show was one of my favourite ever episodes.

Panzee · 25/10/2010 20:57

I can't stand Jazzer, everything is just a whinge. But I am fairly new to The Archers.

zisforzebra · 25/10/2010 21:31

Hearsetease Oh yes, his talent show moment was brilliant.

I used to share with two boys who combined to have all the worst qualities of Jazzer so I totally sympathise with Tom, Brenda and Harry.

But I'm waiting for something awful to be revealed about Harry because so far he's just a bit too good.

Hearsetease · 26/10/2010 00:32

Perhaps Harry is a werewolf. Jazzer will see him leap from the window one night and bound across the fields, howling at the moon. The next morning Harry does the milk round as usual. Jazzer will tell people and nobody will believe him.

Rentaghoste · 26/10/2010 10:43

I loathed Jazzer at the time of the ketamine incident, now I think he's quite witty - I could imagine he's the life and soul at the bar! Ay least he's got a real accent not a fake "mummerset" mumble.

Harry seems like a non-person - what's his agenda?

SpringHeeledJack · 26/10/2010 15:54

I bet he's up to something rum myself

Hearsetease · 26/10/2010 16:51

I thought at first that Harry was just a kind of foil to Jazzer in the single-man-with-an-eye-on-Fallon competition, but that petered out. I want it to be something much more exciting. But he isn't very promising in the excitement department.

Hearsetease · 26/10/2010 19:16

"Tomorrow Harry's a hit with Jill and Peggy." A sensational storyline in the offing?

OP posts:
DirtyMartiniOfDoom · 26/10/2010 20:53

In the battle of wills that was Brendurr v Jazzer, I was totally on Jazzer's side. Even though admittedly he sounded like a total nightmare and I would have hated to have him in my house, Brendurr was just such a bitch about it.

He ate the last bit of ham and bread after Tom told him to help himself, and she screamed "You GREEDY PIG!" and stormed out ... I mean, come on.

SpringHeeledJack · 26/10/2010 21:15

...and then she started moaning about her blood sugar ffs!

R4 · 26/10/2010 23:39

Not another one going on about blood sugar. Did we decide that Brenda's pregnancy hints were another plotline that died a death?

Harry is not on The Archers 'Who's Who' list. Does this mean that he is not destined to be a long-time resident? Or has the updater of the list been a victim of cost-cutting?

Hearsetease · 27/10/2010 08:51

Harry's absence from that list was what prompted my original post -- he seems to be quite central at the moment but has no official status.
