Came back to it after being stuck too long in the morning. Used hints and DH suspected one of the connections but looked up some.

The connection is bot said it was a 5 out of 5 difficulty today.

Commiserations to the many people who haven't got their score today - particularly to @WinterFrogs! I found it very hard today and I read the comments in the connections app all of which were moaning on about how people keep saying the puzzle is American and how much they would like to filter out those comments. I even took a photograph of one of the comments because I couldn't understand the clues and I needed to zoom in to see them better.
If I had played the game properly I wouldn't have got it either.

Got yellow and purple but was țhen stuck. After two wrong guesses, I looked at companion, which confirmed the category. A lucky guess followed.
