@thinky the asterisk means you are playing in "hard mode" (look under settings to change). This means you can't do an "elimination word", you need to correctly use the info you have from previous guesses. I don't play in hard mode but I probably should because I hardly ever use elimination words!

I probably should too. For some bizarre reason I thought it meant the word would be harder to guess, which doesn’t make sense if you think about it, unless they stated outright that there would be two Wordles a day. Duh!
