Pushchair which can have the Maxi cosi cabriofix car seat attached to it - can you help?

I like the Quinny Zapp and its about the right price range for us but it doesnt recline so is vetoed.

In an ideal world Id like a pushchair which is reversible and I know the mothercare one at least is like that but it is roughly £180 for teh chassis and another £180 for the seat so well, well, outwith our price range.

Im willing to give up on the reversible aspect because I just dont think its possible with our budget BUT I really do need a pushchair for roughly the same price at the Quinny which reclines and can have this car seat attached. I want it to be fairly small and lightweight and I like 3 wheels but that's by no means essential.

Can anyone help?

AppleAndBlackberry · 08/07/2010 12:25

The Bugaboo Bee does too, you could probably afford a second hand 2009 model depending on your budget.

XboxWidow30 · 08/07/2010 12:46

Oooh I sooo like the Zapp but not reclining was an issue. Will defo go for a new Zapp Xtra though.

What about a Micralite Superlite? They take the Maxi Cosi and are fab little prams. The recline is better on the newer prams, and you can get them for £150 new.

misdee · 08/07/2010 17:40

not vsure if these are real pics

MrsBadger · 08/07/2010 17:43

Micralites don;t reverse though, do they?

XboxWidow30 · 08/07/2010 18:55

Oooh Misdee, thanks. I looked earlier but couldn't find anything! Looks good!

waitingforbedtime · 08/07/2010 19:32

Had a quick look at the micralite - it looks teeny tiny seat wise?

No they don't reverse, but within budget and takes maxi cosi.

Seat on Micralite is huge, my 4 year old can sit in one and has loads of room.

Loving the idea of the zapp though, the pics look good, hope they are the right ones.

misdee · 08/07/2010 20:52

i've actually heard its later this monrth/early next month for the zapp xtra.

waitingforbedtime · 09/07/2010 08:01

Thats good to know about the micralite seat, thanks.

Misdee - I called our local stockist theyre saying end July / start Aug.

We have been told the same launch date and have started taking preorders. If you alreay have a zapp you can just buy the zapp xtra seat to convert your existing pushchair.

waitingforbedtime · 09/07/2010 11:54

kelly do you think theyll be hard ot get hold of? Our local stockists isnt taking pre-orders but will call when in stock. I wouldnt pre order anyways as want to see it in the flesh iyswim?

My worry is that I am due early Sept so if its released in aug and they sell out before I get one am I up the creek without a paddle?!

The Quinny Zapp Xtra is going to be more expensive than the original Zapp at £225. Found a great review onwww.pushchairtrader.com

At least this is small pushchair that can be used from birth, so probably no need to invest in another one!

mummyreynolds · 17/08/2010 16:40

Have you seen the Quinny Casters website www.quinnycasters.com/

You can get a free Zapp Xtra in return for reviewing it.

PJen · 16/09/2010 15:11

I have posted the below in other quinny zapp xtra chats as I was so close to buy it and was so surprised to find this out and think it is worth sharing - so I copy pasted it here.
A big con about the Quinny Zapp Xtra:
I checked this in a baby R US and it is absolutely fab, folds easily, very easy to handle, very very light, lovely design BUT you can only put the new born baby in it for max of two hours as the seat doesn't provide a compeletly flat back support for the baby! Be careful as this info is not mentioned by all shop sales reps as it is not formally shared. I digged as the seat is not flat and when you look at it you wonder where you put a new born to have a flat back? The seat is from soft material (no hard back support) and a part of it goes in (where a toddler's bum would sit) and there is no flat space where the baby can sit. To let you visualize, similar to a maxi cosi car seat, the seat is not flat for a new born. So I asked and aksed around and insisted to get confirmation that this is okay for a new born and then the answer was: yes for up to 2 hours and this time includes the time you have the new born in a car seat if your car seat has the same limitation. So if you drive half an hour to somewhere, you can only use the pushchair for an hour as you have to drive back for another half an hour! So be careful!!!

Loftypops · 12/10/2010 19:40

Did you settle on any of the suggestions? I'm looking for a pushchair that's got a narrower wheel base, and which collapses smaller than the My4 I've got (so we can travel with it), but which also takes the Maxi cosi car seat. Wondering if anyone had tried any out?
