Can the baby go in the main seat with out cocoon and toddler still be on top??

Do you mean the main seat but lying flat (pram style)?

If so then yes, the cocoon is probably too hot for summer use if that helps.

Yes - I've seen people using it this way - down south where we are - far to hot for the cocoon right now!

I had an August baby, and think I used the cocoon open. Hope that helps.
