maclaren xlr and carrycot v m and p Sola

Don't know what to buy. Love Maclaren as I am tall and handles are high but carrycot will only last a few months I think and then will have be forward facing.
Sola rear or forward facing, looks great but handles not quite as high or as compact.
Both add up to similar price. Anyone got a strong opinion either way? Thanks.

ANyone? I need help! Driving myself daft with 'research' and would welcome views of users of both. Thanks.

I have both a Sola and a Maclaren XT (plus a few more which I definitely wouldn't have bothered with if the Sola had been around when I was first pram shopping) and I love both for different reasons - which doesn't help you at all!
Personally I'd probably buy the Sola and then maybe a Maclaren Quest further down the line or second hand from e bay.
I know everyone thinks they'll have just one pushchair and a lot of people do survive etc. but the bottom line is that a Maclaren is the best for travelling and public transport/not taking up too much space in the car boot but something bigger and more substantial is nicer to push and more comfortable for the baby.
Personally I wish I'd gone for the Quest instead of the XT as my smaller travelling buggy because the XT is quite long so not as compact but it's still the best for buses.
Sorry not to give you a more decisive answer!

Thanks for replying though. I have just looked at the XLR and it's a bloody faff fitting the carrycot on and off. So think will go for a Sola. It's more compact, does the parent facing thing without the need for a bulky carry cot too. I already have an XT which I will just keep hold of.
Thanks again!

I got talked into the Sola by Mrs Willis on here and haven't regretted it at all. So easy to push one handed while dragging a toddler along, great hood, easy to collapse and ok ish shopping basket.

Anyone seen them discounted anywhere. Most sites are showing them as £250.

I've just ordered mine, I paid £391 for pushchair, carrrycot, adaptors and carseat.

I can't see them anywhere discounted. I am just getting the pushchair and footmuff/liner. I don't think we'll need the carrycot. Think that comes to £315 or something like that. Where you getting yours Foxy?
