Lightweight pushchair for travel with bigger baby

Good morning, fab MN-ers.

I'm wanting to get (probably via Ebay) a light-weight foldable pushchair, easy to use on public transport (bus and tube) and also to sling in the back of a small car (Renault Clio) with other bags. My DG is already 9 months and a big (10kg), and I want to get something that will last well into toddler-hood.

We live overseas but we'll be spending a couple of months back in the UK this summer and successive ones, so this pushchair would primarily be for these visits. That's why it's important it's lightweight, as we'll be rushing around London and the UK visiting family, so it needs to be able to go into the boot with other luggage, onto buses and trains etc. But it also got to last until she's much bigger, as I don't want to have to upsize each year something which only gets occasional use.

It doesn't need to be especially cosy (ie not for winter use, so no footmuff etc) but must have rain protection.

McClaren is the obvious option - but which one? What other recommendations do you have (eg Micralite)?

Will also be seeking advice re travel cots on another thread.

Many thanks

hi, we have the maclaren techno xt we got for ds when he was 6 months for travelling and it has been great and it fits in a clio boot at a squash! re travel cots, i have the basic mamas and papas one and it's good and folds up small and into a travel bag.

There are some good deals on the Mamas and papas Pulse at the moment as it is an end of range. New on Ebay for around £80.
